Yup, with the exception of the bass player this lineup has been together for a long time now. Drummer Jules Radino has been with them since 2004. Bass player Danny Miranda just re-joined a few years ago, but he was also with the band for 10 years back in the 90's and early 00's.

For me it is just ok. I know some BOC fans love it though. I did not think it was as good as I hoped it would be. Just my opinion of course.
If you did not get Albert Bouchard's "Re-Imaginos" I would recommend it. Yes, his vocals are a bit rough around the edges, but once you give the album a listen or two you get used to them and I think the whole thing is really good.
The Bouchard brothers have also been involved with The Brain Surgeons albums, but I don't have any of them so can't really comment.
BTW B.O.C. played a half hour from me a little over a week ago, but it was a "private" event and they were not selling tix to the general public unfortunately...
It's Buck playin' and singin' and I do like it. The video for "Born to Rock" is a hoot.

Not sure if you got An Alien Heat by Spirits Burning, but Buck, Albert, Joe and Richie all appear on it. Albert contributes largely to the album (vocals, lyrics, instruments), Richie plays guitar on three songs, and Joe sings lead vocals on two songs. Buck only appears on the first song; he sings lead but doesn't play a lick of guitar.

Albert's "Re-Imaginos" is a pretty tough listen for me. The vocals are rough and it doesn't "feel" much like BOC to me. The new The Symbol Remains, on the other hand, is superb.

Agree, that "Symbol" is a fantastic album, but Albert's has grown on me with repeated listens. Yes, his vocals take some getting used to, but I keep coming back to it.
Pretty much felt the same about Flat Out, but thought this instrumental was pretty good in a Top Gun 80's kinda way.

I listened to Flat Out a ton when it first came out. These days I find it pretty uneven, but there are still some tracks I enjoy.

It's always a joy to hear Buck's playing and singing, which is one of the reasons why I welcomed the release of a new BOC album last year.
That being said, I find Flat Out good, but a bit underwhelming. There may be something in the BOC world that adds intensity to his playing, singing and songwriting.

I saw Buck on tour for the Flat Out release in Ithica NY. He had Ron Riddle and Joe Bouchard with him. Great show. Except Joe was quite clumsy in some heavy boots and nearly toppled over a couple times. Good times!
