Also, the new Simon Steensland and JG Thirlwell release is out too. The first couple of pre-released tracks sound very promising.

In the early running for album of the year for me with Emme Phyzema, Kavus Torabi, Chromb and Igorrr. Superb stuff.

The new I Am the Manic Whale "Things Unseen" is out today on bandcamp.

    https://iamthemanicwhale.bandcamp.com

Clever neo prog with "smarts" ala City Boy, A.C.T, or 10CC. Well written, well played, well sung, and great sonics. $7 USD gets you a 24/48 recording. Highly recommended.

    Sounds great to these ears.

Hello folks, I hope you're all well in those strange times. I will buy to support artists I love this may 1st, as Bandcamp doesn't take its cut on sales to support artists and labels !
Ghost Rhythms issued two new tracks for this special date, in their EP "Imaginary Mountains". The new tracks are "Le Mont Analogue" and "Path to Oyapock".
All music was composed, arranged and executed during lockdown.
    https://ghostrhythms.bandcamp.com/al...nary-mountains
The main theme, of course, is imaginary mountains found on old maps, but it is also all those mountains - even inner mountains - that we climb, if only in dreams.
I hope you'll like the new titles. I'm very proud of the work.
Cheers everyone, stay safe ! Xavier (Ghost Rhythms)

Phideaux has put up an archival ambient album from High School on Bandcamp. Calling it an album doesn't do it justice, as it is quite lengthy.

    EDIT: And that's not all:

Maybe Mr. X is going to mine the tape treasure trove. We can hope.

I'm buying this after listening to a couple of tunes on Bandcamp. Really tuneful songwriting, arrangements and performances. I may have listened to a previous one of their albums but this one hit the spot. Thanks for the recommendation.

A really good album that’s one of my faves this year; also mentioned on the music from Norway thread.

François Thollot of Scherzoo has put out a solo piano album:

    https://scherzoo.bandcamp.com/album/piano-pieces

At a first listen, the pieces show the same kind of knotty compositional logic that makes Scherzoo such an involving listen. I bought it.

EDIT: Length-wise, EP would be a better term. It's about 25 minutes.

Great album. The band is apparently a Jordsjo side-project.

I also liked it a lot - and reminded me of an instrumental version of Jordsjo

Because Progstreaming is one of the places I often check:

    http://www.progstreaming.nl/pages/pl...%20-%20Istinto

I'm not quite sure what to think because from song to song I hear them influenced by Magma/zeuhl and then sort of garden-variety Prog. It's all right but a little jarring when they go from one to the other. Otherwise, pleasant but not much more beyond that.

Not really new, but not mentioned in this forum as far as I can see:
    Grimény - Die Große Enttäuschung
Somewhere between Mars Volta, King Crimson, and Twin Peaks.

    Hi folks,

I'm new to Progressive Ears, so apologies in advance if I'm not supposed to be posting about my own music here, but I just wanted to let you know about a new release from my new project. I'm Jon, songwriter and keyboard player with PANIC ROOM and I've started a new project called THREE COLOURS DARK with my former Karnataka bandmate, Rachel Cohen (who some of you may also know from The Reasoning). Our debut album 'THE SCIENCE OF GOODBYE' has just been released and may be of interest to member of Progressive Ears.

Here's a video sampler for the album and you can find out more about the project at www.threecoloursdark.com

^ Brother, if your name is Jon, around here, you're halfway home.

Oh, and I enjoyed the trailer. Thanks for posting.
