Yeah, seems like the time stopped for these guys ... not necessarily a bad thing. The new vocalist's voice is quite similar too. The album has been in the making for what seems like forever, so it remains to be seen when it will see the light of a day.

This has been already reported on the Danish Prog Recommendations thread by Zeuhlmate (thanks for yet another great find!!!) but, for anyone not following that thread, this album is too good to be missed:

Welsh prog band from late-'70s/early-'80s returns to the studio. I'm interested to listen to this after reading the story:

^ The opening of track #2, Radiation, sounds mightily like 80's Rush to me.

^ Doesn't really sound late 70s, but it isn't bad.

It doesn't because it's new material. The band 1980s output is pretty groovin though.

As much as I do not like the band's name (Retreat From Moscow) already have it on pre-order for some time. Release date is 2/4/22 .. at least in US.

    Coming soon;

    From Stephan Thelen:
Last year, when I mentioned to Giacomo Bruzzo that a new Burnt Belief was in the works, he suggested that Colin Edwin, Stephan Thelen and I should do something together. And as we'd already been talking to Fabio Anile about trying to bring the "Fractal Guitar" albums to a live setting*, he was naturally happy to dive in too. Andi Pupato was an obvious choice as we'd so enthusiastically worked together on the "Fractal Guitar" albums, "Across the Evening" (with Robert Jürjendal) and the latest Burnt Belief album "Mutual Isolation". And then we heard Yogev Gabay play and we knew instantly he was the right player--and person-- to put it all in place. What a wonderful experience it's been putting this together, and I really look forward to sharing it with everyone.

*one day, hopefully, we'll get to the backside of all the nonsense and make this happen.

    Geoffrey Feakes

1973: The Golden Year of Progressive Rock (Book pre-order)

"During a decade that defined progressive rock, 1973 was a pivotal year. Influential bands like Yes, Genesis, ELP, Jethro Tull and King Crimson released key albums and there were countless releases from less well known but equally worthy acts in the genre.

1973: The Golden Year of Progressive Rock is a journey through this creative period; stopping off on route to explore symphonic rock, the Canterbury scene, Krautrock, fusion, progressive folk, art rock, space rock, album artwork and much more.

As well as the big names from the year when progressive rock was arguably at its commercial and artistic peak, the book also looks in depth at albums by the likes of Mahavishnu Orchestra, Greenslade, Rick Wakeman, Gong, Le Orme, Can, Gentle Giant, PFM, Renaissance, Caravan, Nektar, Magma and more.

A comprehensive and knowledgeable guide to an era when music incorporated multiple sections, rich textures, intricate time signatures, inspired arrangements and diverse influences performed by skilled musicians.

    Pre-order for February 25 shipping."

A new one from Norway: Bresk - "A Journey Through the Life of Peder Balke 1804-1887". Very good on my first impressions.

The entire album on the band's YT channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGd...6asg/playlists

Here are the 2nd and 3rd songs:

From Brazil: Maraslis, a symphonic rock album by Alex Maraslis.
Couldn't find any samples, but the promotional copy I got sounds possitive.
    New album release

Alex Maraslis releases his second solo work, Maraslis , after a 21-year hiatus from dedicating himself to projects with his production company, Elemental Arts , and projects with other bands he is a part of, such as the Montauk Project.

The new venture has several important participations such as:

    • Pedro Baldanza (Som Nosso de Cada Dia)

    • Beth Dau (Hermeto Pascoal)

    • Braulio Drumond (Di'Anno)

    • Artur Cirio (Cold Blood)

    • Robson Bertolossi (Octohpera and Chronos Mundi)

    • Alex Frias (AJJA)

The new album also counts with the great partnership in the musical production of Carlos Savalla (Paralamas do Sucesso, Pato Fu).

Already considered by the website Rock Progressivo Brasil one of the best progressive rock albums released in 2021, Maraslis undoubtedly deserves a check on digital platforms or on CD.

Here's my new album. Synth driven symphonic prog. The album closer is a side-long epic!
