    New Poil Album: Brossaklitt

I'm ordering this. That video Wayside has up for the album (which apparently isn't included thereon, though) has to be one of the most amusing things I saw in quite a while.

    Great band!

I ordered it last week at Altrock. Expect it to arrive any moment.

The German language site BBS already has a couple of raving reviews up

I gave this a couple of spins over de weekend.

Love this combination of complexity, raw energy and FUN. Need to spin this more often but this might be a serious contender for album of the year!

It's a good one (and in my opinion a step up from their latest...though I prefer their first overall).

Lots will unfold over the courses of many I'm sure.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.

Upon hearing the teaser I immediately ordered on the AltRock site. Complex, intricate and with that unique french humour. Expecting to be great!

The vinyl arrived 2 days ago,
Had a chance only to listen to one of the 2 albums, crazy as ever!
Happy to see that the piece I liked from the RIO fest performance is on it (studio version of course).

Got it from good old Marcello
    Great stuff
One quibble ... I find it too long
Now days I prefer albums that are around or under 45 min

Agree on them length....I reckon us older folk have mighty short attention spans.

Agreed. Give me 45 focused minutes over 45 minutes + 30 minutes of fluff anyday. Of course, that's not always the case (and may not be for this album - I don't have it).

    Yep-
After previous RIO fest POIL show, they were taking names for the vinyl pre-order.
Of course I completely forgot about it so it was a great surprise

So I guess it's a double vinyl then - considering the alleged length?

Agree with Udi about the preferred length of albums, and especially when the music's as dense as this. However, it's a somewhat different case when we're talking vinyl formats. I suspect a record like Art Zoyd's Phase IV to be fairly inaccessible once on a single CD, but the 2LP works wonderfully.

Some of htese French eccentrics could certainly use a hand at limitation of contents; Aquaserge are experts at it, whilst someone like Sebkha-Chott usually put out 76-minute albums.

I am not saying its fluff I just think 45 is enough for this type of intense complex stuff
