The original tapes have been lost a good long while now sadly. Still my favorite Yes album since this album is where it started for me. About the best sounding version on disc to my ears is the remaster by Steve Hoffman. It was released in CD/SACD on Audio Fidelity in 2013. As others have noted, however, the album could really use a remix. Maybe one day the tapes will be discovered unless they have been destroyed. Seems unlikely but a fan can hope!

Breakdown at http://www.bondegezou.co.uk/wnyesm.htm#rers I'm a bit disappointed at the bonus material. I presume the untitled Trevor Rabin instrumental is just the "State of Play" demo from the "Yes Active" CD-ROM.

But no YES Live in Chile 1994, pro shot on DVD & BluRay?

I'm holding out for the 200-disc megabox from whatever Gonzo calls itself these days, featuring repackaged bootlegs sourced mostly from beer-soaked cassettes and housed in a 1/8th replica of Jon Anderson's wardrobe cabinet.
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

But with the Talk Tour you don't even need to rise to those lofty Gonzo standards. Yes used some kind of in-house broadcasting system called "Concertsonics" at the shows that the audience could listen to via headphones. Someone who was actually there may be able to explain this better...

The result is a set of near-perfect soundboard quality boots. I have two: the Canandaigua that will be on this set, and one from Missouri. They are great but indistinguishable. Nonetheless if someone wanted to put together a multi-show box of high-quality stuff it would be straightforward.

The live recordings look like they are just the old Endless Dream bootleg, which isn’t even the complete show and has some songs out of order. There is a complete version of the concert on Forgotten Yesterdays.

Excited for the set in general. With regards to the live show though bummer it can’t be complete is the full show move than 150m?

Seeing differing track lists one with where will you be one without. Hope it includes that as it would be a shame to cut out the talk track given it’s rarer status compared to other warhorses.

The complete show would certainly fit on two CDs and sounds damned good. I’ve been listening to it this evening. I suspect that the culprit is laziness and a lack of proper research on behalf of the compilers of the box who seem to be following the recent Yes archival model (Gonzo and Rhino) of putting more effort into packaging than into content. They probably just had an old CD copy of the Endless Dream bootleg lying around and ripped it for the live stuff. Even if you just type “Yes Talk concert download” into Google you can do better for the 1994 tour without even delving into the vast archive on Forgotten Yesterdays.

I have several ROIO from this tour.. Orlando as I recall was well recorded and the band were on fire that night.

I am not entirely clear what the value is of having a vinyl release of an album that was originally recorded and mixed digitally for CD release...

though looking up stuff on Discogs I'm pretty amused that Talk was originally released on a single LP even though it's 55 minutes long. even crazier Union has a 1xLP release and even though it cuts a song it's still a bit over an hour. I guess they didn't expect anyone to actually listen to them

Possibly none. Or possibly like with my system: the cd is ALWAYS brighter than playing the same recording on my turntable, which is sometimes a positive or a negative, depending on the recording. Some folks also still love physical product and the idea of listening to vinyl "sides" is where it's at. It can create a more active listening environment for certain folks, like in the olde daze. There are also folks that invested more in their vinyl rig compared to cd/streaming, so the sound preference would be vinyl for them. Or other reasons....?

Well that would apply to all vinyl releases since the boom of cd and the subsequent resurgence of vinyl sales in recent years. People are not so worried about sound quality, its just nice to have vinyl and the big sleeves etc..

I just don’t get why a certain contingent of people insists on eating strawberry ice cream when chocolate is objectively and verifiably better.

You need vinyl to play back on your Bluetooth turntable.

My only complaint is the production which I think maybe could have been better. But this was the 90s and I guess that could be part of it.
I'm in the most underrated camp myself. This is my favorite non 60's/70's LP I'd say. I don't get the "should have been a Trevor solo LP take" either. In fact that is why I love this LP, of the studio albums Trevor is on, in my opinion this sounds more like a Yes LP than the previous two.
