Erik Norlander Spring Live Dates this weekend!

Keyboard maestro Erik Norlander has a few live dates coming up in a few days, and he has ace guitarist Jeff Kollman with him along with long time sidemen Nick LePar on drums and Mark Matthews on bass. I had the pleasure of traveling with Erik's band in Mexico in the fall (Moni Scaria was on guitar then) and they are a blast.

If you love keyboard-heavy, instrumental symphonic heavy rock that goes prog at times, ambient at others, you should check him out!
Gosh darn it, support independent working prog musicians!

Yeah, I plan on going to the Georgia gig. It's really too bad that his promoter couldn't have found a venue closer to the actual Atlanta area as Canton is approx 1 hour North of the downtown ATL area (with Friday night traffic), even further for those of us who live in the far east suburbs.

I'm honestly not a big fan of Erik's (musically that is, he's a nice guy) but given the reasonable price, the charitable aspect of it and the close proximity I might have to go to the Canton show...

I bought tickets for the Canton, GA show. I always wanted to see Erik playing his own material live outside of AFJP. I have both The Galactive Collective studio and live albums, great productions, I recommend them both.

The latest in a long line of promo for Sunday the 13th:

Thought Radio Radio Playlist for April 12, 2014.
    http://soundscapes.us/thoughtradio/p...14/140412.html
    http://billfox.blogspot.com/2014/04/...for-april.html

    Recap:
In Phase 1, I continued the special on Sequences electronic music magazine and music from the 30th Anniversary remastered "Structures from Silence" by Steve Roach as well as music from an artist playing at the Gatherings. In Phase 3, I featured music by Erik Norlander in anticipation of the new album by the Rocket Scientists and his appearance at the NJ Proghouse with The Galactic Collective. Also playing at NJP will be The Yellow Box.

    Looking forward to being there!

PLEASE do go to the concert, and then post another message about the concert afterwards. You have to see this version of Erik and Galactic Collective live!

We had the Erik Norlander Galactic Collective in concert last night at The Winchester, Cleveland, OH. We had a good showing, and Erik and group were the best I've seen yet. It was the first time I've seen Jeff Kollman, and he REALLY complimented Erik and the rest of Erik's group members. A few of the old Rocket Scientists fans thought they would miss hearing vocals. I asked afterwards if they missed the vocals. Everyone started laughing, and said they were blown away by how great the guys played. The group finished off with a couple standing ovations from the crowd.

New Jersey, N. Carolina and Georgia Prog fans - DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW!!
