    King Crimson covers.

This subject might have been dealt with already, but there seems to be a certain number of Crimson-repertoire bands or projects out there. And not just the usual cover bands, but people reimagining the output of Fripp & Co. - in some cases quite differently.

Here's a good one from Court...., by France's Nathan Bedel Ensemble, and a link to another: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sJwkuNEg2w

And, from Vancouver BC, a version from the Hard Rubber Orchestra.

This is very cool. I have wished for an early studio recording, but alas it doesn't exist. Originally part of a long suite that included A Man A City (Pictures of a City). Could have easily been on the 1st or 2nd KC albums. IMO this is a beautiful rendition of Trees with stellar mellotron, and a heartfelt performance.

Day dawns dark...it now numbers infinity.

My all time favorite Crim cover. This whole album is one of my favorites, really.

I'll raise you one with an absolutely bonkers live version; it's like orchestrated Electric Miles Does Crimson, and features Collignon not only playing his cornet through effects, but frantically scatting through a vocoder while playing air guitar:

Although I can't really think of any off the top of my head I'm sure there's quite a few of them. I remember a long time ago when I was in a record store I heard some post punk or new wave kind of band doing a cover of "I talk to the Wind" but I have no idea who it was. This was in the late eighties or so and I was already very familiar with the first King Crimson album so I knew it wasn't an original(otherwise I might have assumed it was). I'm pretty sure I mentioned something to the clerk about it but I forgot who he said it was. This was probably around the same time I saw a guy going into the grocery store I worked at wearing a ITCOTCK t shirt which must have been rather unusual at that time.

A bit of an outlier but it does qualify…

I kinda dig it. The guitar tone is great and the player takes some liberties that I think work really well.

They should've pulled the mic a bit further from the cymbals tho

I like the autoharp - it's not usually heard in a rock context, but it works well here.

Holy shit this is great! The vocorder scatting puts it over the top. Fantastic sounding band.

    This one perhaps?

Also, no mention yet of Ian Wallace's great two jazz trio tribute albums?

Holy crap I haven't listened to this Crimson Jazz Trio album in a while and the rendition of Three of a Perfect Pair is off the hook.

Rachel Flowers has cover LTIA Parts 1 & 2, Red, and Starless. I love the flute solo on LTIA Part 2.
