I loved The Inside Story when it came out in the late 70s.

That album was very much a west coast fusion affair, similar in style to Larry Carlton's first album and Lee Ritenours Captain Fingers .

His singing never really did it for me ,so his long blues phase I'm not that familiar with.

coincidentally enough, on this NY's eve, I saw a Larry Carlton concert broadcast with Robben Ford on bass... Very much between blues and jazz..

I love Robben Ford. One of my favorites. For those who are fans, his playing on Neil Larson's Orbit album is fabulous. So tasteful, so appropriate for the music, fabulous tone. This album hasn't been mentioned here yet and it's definitely worth seeking out.
