With Yes knocking on the door of the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame it is time to get Jon & Rick back in the group. This could be another blown opportunity for Yes (and there have been many of them). Get the classic line up together for one last big tour and call it a day. This has been my favorite group for most of my adult life but I skipped their recent tour because I have no interest in seeing the karaoke singer they currently have. It is time to finish on an up.
....and, yet, "Drama" is one of my favorite Yes albums and it doesn't have either member (shrug)
Wishful thinking. The band is going to do what they want to do not what you want them to do.
I'm a huge fan too but I prefer to be realistic. Who knows what will happen if and when they get together at the rock n roll HOF. I did read somewhere a while ago that Chris is open to the idea of bringing Jon back at some point. However, I doubt Jon would do it unless Rick is involved. I also doubt Jon would want to tour as much as the rest of the band would want to.

I'd like the same pre-2003 reality as you . . but this is 10 years gone and a vocalist is a vocalist and a player is a player; Jon A just cannot handle the pace. musicians play music so that is what Yes will do

Other than Jon doing a few one-off shows ( and payday), I don't believe any of the parties involved really want anything other than what they are currently doing/involved in. You could get Jon to show up when and if they get into the R&RHOF, but Rick, imo, less of a chance than Bill Bruford showing up/going out of his way to attend.
They have bigger obstacles to overcome than worrying about timing it with the overdue, yet relatively meaningless, R&RHOF induction, which is still years away, I'd bet.

I have no doubt that JA will be there for the RRHOF induction and maybe play a few special dates with Yes at some point before they all retire or pass away, but I don't see him ever returning on a full-time basis. There's no indication he even wants to, AFAIK. He can go around doing his little storytelling show and probably clear as much money for himself as he would in a Yes reunion.
Perhaps they could have all 4 Yes lead singers get together and perform a special accapella performance of "Leave It" at the induction.
I think the band without Anderson and Wakeman has more potential. I don't think Wakeman has ever really been much of a composer in Yes and Anderson is too wacky to contribute anything meaningful anymore. Howe and Squire have always provided the compositional meat in the band and I look for them to thrive without the nutcase that Jon Anderson has become. The new Jon from Glass Hammer is a better singer than the old Jon at this point in their careers! Plus, he's not a loon, or at least doesn't appear to be!
Time to find a new favorite band.
Well, you're in luck. Jon and Rick have announced that if fans send in 750,000 Frosted Flakes boxtops by December 31, with a 50-word essay about "Why I love The Living Tree more than Fly From Here" written on the back, they'll personally set Jon Davison and Geoff Downes on fire onstage as the two of them enter to the strains of the "Firebird Suite" during the Hall of Fame induction. So, everybody, get on that!

Wakeman, being really the only classically trained musician was the arranger of the group. He also was able to play much of the material for the group in different keys. I dare say we wouldn't have fallen in love with YES-music had Rick not been there.
