Thread: Worst dressed Prog stars!

    Worst dressed Prog stars!

Am talking about stage dress .
Must admit Chris Squire has given me a few chuckles down the years .
Another occasion when I had a chuckle was when I saw a Genesis tribute do The Lamb & the singer coming out from behind the curtain dressed as The Slipperman. Totally distracted me from the seriousness of the music .
Back in the day were they advised by professional designers or did they dress to their own personal taste ?

They were Omega, a Hungarian group, which was pretty popular.

Geezer, I think that they raided your wardrobe for those photo shoots. I'll bet that at least two of them are wearing speedos underneath their garb.

I will wait until Scott Bails cues me to post the usual pics

To Omega credit, they were one of the first bands (and most likely the very first in East block) to understand the value of AOR entertainment...their performances were entrtaining on par with ELP, Elton John, Led Zep, Queen and other bands

This thread could be infinitely long...

That said, keep it nice. This thread invites the opportunity to be a hater, we want to avoid that. Keep it light...

Am going to do a You Tube search right now !!!!

BTW , they remind me of a UK glam band called Chicory Tip . They had some Giogio Mirroda penned hits !

To be fair, the Gabriel pics are costumes, not outfits. Silly? Perhaps, but each of them relates to a particular song and were part of a theatrical-style performance. It's like saying Nathan Lane was "badly dressed" for wearing a Max Bialystock costume in "The Producers".

    Carry on.

I think a "best dressed prog star" thread would be harder to come up with material for!

There's no shortage of poor wardrobe choices throughout the history of prog, but yeah, Kansas definitely had some image problems! You've got one guy in hot pants and tube socks, another guy in a bad prom tux, a fiddle player who just jumped off the tractor, I believe Livgren did the kimono thing for a while...

Thanks! I know. I weighed that & felt safe enough here (I guess we'll see).

I'm not on any other social media (no fb, myspace or anything else), so in the event that something went amiss, I'd know where to look.

Seriousness?! You do know you're talking about an album that uses the line "Erogenous zones, I thank you" as a refrain, right?

Huh. Looks like just regular clothes to me? I'm going with Daves pick in post #15, or is that a costume too? Or Omega. Of course I wonder what people would say about us in 30 years...
