is October Project still copyrighted given the band doesn't exist anymore (which is a shame btw)?

Still wouldn't be a good idea to intentionally confuse your band with another.

by the way, if you take the three words "Haven", "Lane", and "Grey", you can rearrange all the letters (anagram) to be either:

Heavenly Range, Heavenly Anger, Gnarl Ye Heaven, Heave Granny El, or Hear Angel Envy

Sane Grey? Some people might get that. I googled it and got a name from the 1940 census: Sane Grey Woody. Might be a fun name too!

How about October Country? Has an autumny feel to it, and since Ray Bradbury is no longer with us, I doubt he'll come after you for taking the name of his book.

    October Lane
    October Grey

Looking forward to my day in court.

I would like to thank everyone for their input, opinions, and suggestions. It's been a fun process, and I think we have more or less reached a decision...Which, interestingly enough, doesn't use any of the words in the list I gave earlier. But it's simple, not already in use, and is meaningful to us and our musical relationship. And as it turns out we are playing a few songs for our debut performance tomorrow night, so it's good that we seem to have a name chosen.
    Thanks again all!

So, after all this, you're not even going to tell us the name?!!!

Let me get definite final confirmation from my musical cohort today or tomorrow and then I will reveal the name...If anyone is still interested then.

Maybe we should have a guessing contest.

    Is it Lightweight Moon Therapy?

It's an acoustic duo comprising myself on acoustic guitar and harmony vocals, and my friend Christi on vocals, violin, and mandolin. We have written a few original songs but for now most of the setlist consists of folky covers along the lines of John Denver, Simon & Garfunkel, some Eva Cassidy arrangements, some traditional hymns or folk songs, and even a few violin-led instrumentals. [...] Anyway, we have our first gig on september 7, with a few appearances at open mics between now and then, so it would be great to have a name before then.
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    How about Farpoint Convention?
