    The return of Happy Family

Japan's Happy Family are back and they are back with a vengence!

This track will appear on their upcoming 2014 album, but this is the demo of the track.

With the band's permission, it is exclusively being streamed here to give you all a taste of how good they sound these days and to build some interest towards their upcoming, new release!

Are they reformed with all the original members?

I only ask because I like this track much more than anything from their two albums.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

I'm not even going to listen to this demo track. This is an autobuy for me.

Cool. I was wondering if they were done, or not.

loved the first 2... looking forward to this!
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Well I've heard of these guys but never heard any stuff. Sample sounds really good, are their previous albums in a similar vein?

This not an untypical track (from their first album):

    Thanks Steve, nice stuff.

I'm sorry, really sorry to have to bring this up but every time I see the band name "Happy Family" I am reminded of this song:

Partly at least their second release, Toscco from 1997 - which I'd personally rate as one of the top 15 or so progressive rock albums from the 90s. Heavier but probably less overtly weird than Ruins or Koenjihyakkei, they nevertheless possess some of that to-the-bone force which is usually associated almost exclusively with Japanese acts (Ground Zero, Bondage Fruit, Altered States, Optical 8 et al.).

    @Rcarlberg
But it is probably the KC song that is their reference?

Three (Guitar, Drums, Keyboards) are the same guys from "Toscco". The bassist is a new guy.

    Yes.

FYI, they once used the KC song as a gig opening SE.
