    Airbag from Norway

Great band! I loved their ep's as well as their two albums. Shure, a lot of Gilmour in their guitarist - but great!! They're finishing their third album now and their fb updates seem very promising. So, any fans??

Good band! I think they were a Floyd cover band, weren't they?

I have Identity but most seem to like the next one better ? I like their style.
Anyone heard of another Norwegian band called Circles End ? Hang On To That Kite was released in 2004 by this young band but it has more of a Jazz flavour, but is warm like Airbag.

I have and somewhat enjoy All Rights Removed.

Here is a plug for airbag - a streaming preview is now up for their new album on progstreaming.com. A natural progression from the previous albums, nothing too radical but still enjoyable.

When I listen to airbag I always think this is what Pink Floyd would have evolved to (not surprising as they were a PF cover band). Don't let that put your off, the music is fresh and definitely recommended for a PF fan.

They were mentioned in a thread about bands with "Gilmour-like guitar," and they were highly recommended there. I got both of their albums and love them both.

I reviewed their debut EP either here or on SOT. Decent enough. I later downloaded their second one but that,s as far as I ever went with it.

I'd be more surprised if they weren't!!

All Right Removed was the best Floyd album of 2011 for me... I have pre-ordered the new album.

Indeed, and it's been listened to intensively. 263 likes within a couple of days. More than 1800 visitors a day (not a record, but pretty good nonetheless). Monday we'll have Ayreon, thursday the Knight Area-EP.

Quite enjoy the one I've got. As someone said very much in the Floyd vein.

I preferred their second to their somewhat uninspired debut. Looking forward to the new one.

didnt you say you were deceived I've done 3 spins now and can say that Greatest Show is great... with me. Like the way how guitars are articulated. Almost see DG himself pulling those strings up. Though the tone is slightly modernized, but the general approach and phrasing is unmistakable. Big fan of that heavier break midway through the last 16 min track. Wish they could elaborate on that theme a bit more, maybe double up the length of it with a bit of variation, but... we get what we get. Minor complaint is re production: could bring drums a tad more forward and add rough edge to bass (that R4001 type of tone).

In my view, the new Airbag's album is an ordinary JUNK.

Why? A statement like that needs to be backed up. Really, really harsh. To me, that's the new flavour of the month CD.

Being a fan of Norwegian prog-music (mainly, retro style), I think that new Airbag CD is too repetitive. Is there a good and balanced selection of material? Not at all!

Still love this band though. A big diversity in sound is not what this band is about. If its not your thing fair enough.

What bothers me about some of the comments (in general) is that we as progressive music fans should be supporting the genre in a positive way. Of course constructive criticism will always be welcome.

I've listened to the album a few times, and it appeals to me. But I expected to like it.

I do wonder why people make such negative comments. I suppose I could go to every thread for every band that I don't like and add a comment there, but I really don't have time, it would achieve little, and I have no need for everyone to like exactly the same stuff as me (which strangely appears to be a need for many people).

The best phrase that I heard, coined by Matt Stevens - "it's not aimed at me".

Listening now as it happens and enjoying more with every spin

I do wonder sometimes if people listen to an album then charge to the nearest forum to knock it down.

Listen once , then again and again etc , then pass judgement.

Whatever it is , it isnt junk.
