But you really don't need to do that. Unless you have a situation like an organ transplant, where you have a very finite amount of those who can be helped.

    No, I think it's disgusting.

Completely irrelevant - the damage was done. Props for kicking it (if he did), and I hope he stays that way. Especially now that he's been given a second chance.

Nice! I always figure that if I ever needed a liver transplant, I would probably get Keith Richards'.

    Update July 1 -
    http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/l..._content=Local

Legendary rocker Lou Reed, who was back on stage in June just weeks after receiving a liver transplant, was rushed to a Long Island hospital yesterday morning, sources said.

The Velvet Underground founder was rushed to the emergency room at Southampton Hospital from his East Hampton home shortly before 7 a.m. following an emergency call for an adult male suffering from dehydration.

A woman who answered a phone in the unit where Reed was being treated said, “Everything’s fine.”

Reed, 71, suffered the setback 10 days after he made his first public appearance since his lifesaving transplant — at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity on June 20. Reed had the surgery in Ohio in May.

One of my earliest heroes - all the Velvets stuff is essential - his own stuff went from excellent to so-so - almost chronologically. Still when you've done what he did, you don't have to care what some git on a message board says.
    RIP Lou.

RIP, Lou. Was never a big fan but I've always understood his and the VU's importance to rock music. And there are certainly plenty of crossover connections to the prog world. He'll be missed.

RIP Lou, you will be missed, though some seem to think different.

Godspeed Lou. You were one of the greatest artists of the last 50 years. They should erect a giant statue of you at 213 Park Ave South.

I hope somebody's got Jonathan Richman on suicide watch. We don't need to lose two legends in one day.
