Death inspires me like a dog inspires a rabbit
Some of you are probably now just seeing this. Those of us up in the PNW are going "Wha...?"
We know that many of you are eagerly awaiting confirmation of the dates for the US tour this year. So are we! The final dates are still subject to travel arrangements which still remain annoyingly fluid.
We now expect to announce the tour on the 7th June - with performances in late July, August and September. For those who have retained their place in the Royal Package, it now looks most likely that we will be able to play the following cities :
Clearwater FL,
Boca Raton FL,
Orlando FL,
St Augustine FL,
Atlanta GA,
Fort Worth TX,
Austin TX,
Denver CO,
San Diego CA,
San Francisco CA,
Los Angeles,
Phoenix AZ,
Northampton MA,
Lewiston NY,
Rochester Hills MI,
Highland Park IL,
Milwaukee WI,
Cleveland OH,
Huber Heights OH,
New Haven CT,
Holmdel/Red Bank NJ,
Philadelphia PA,
New York City,
Boston MA,
Baltimore MD
This does mean that we are now unlikely to visit some States and cities which we had previously planned. In particular, it sadly seems that we are now unlikely to play :
Memphis,
New Orleans,
Cary,
Portsmouth,
Glen Falls,
Louisville,
Vienna
Anyone with Royal Package tickets for those shows should please get in touch with iona@dgmhq.com for a refund. Alternatively, if you do wish to travel further afield to one of the other shows, we have made arrangements for those needing to switch.
For those with tickets to New Brunswick, the proposed shows in Holmdel/Red Bank will hopefully not be too far away. But similarly, please get in touch if you need a refund.
The current list contains no Canadian dates as the border restrictions remain unclear. We do have Canadian options, but do not know if we will be able to play them. Those with tickets for the shows in Canada are welcome to retain their tickets, in the hope that matters improve, or may also wish to apply for refunds:
Orillia,
Ottawa,
Quebec,
Montreal.
We appreciate the support of all those who have retained their tickets throughout the pandemic. We look forward to meeting you all and finally playing some music!
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.
Disappointed that the Cary, NC show is no longer happening, but I can hopefully make the show in ATL. Hopefully the Zappa band is still a part of this.
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.
So am I that the Montreal date is pretty much not happening. It is ironic because today in Quebec it was announced the loosening of restrictions and lifting the curfew.
For me, it will depend on the confirmed dates for possibly Texas or NY/NJ.
We'll find out on June 7rth.
Hmmm...this has moved slightly farther from me, but still close enough that I could go if I wanted to (depending on date). Going to have to think this one over once final details are announced.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.
Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.
I'm only here to reglaze my bathtub.
Anyone know what venue in Northampton MA?
Glad to see it looks like the boys will tour! Will be curious if they’ll still do 2.5-3 hours across two sets and an encore or if touring with the Zappa band will shorten things....although the announcement doesn’t specifically mention the Zappa band but some of the venues have. We’ll see.
Here’s hoping that when the official announcement happens in June 7 that they announce a new live release from the current band (haven’t had one since meltdown in 2018) and/or finally the release of the long awaited documentary!
Were Crimson supposed to play in Ottawa at some point?
What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it brings forth a sound (2112)
It was before the pandemic was declared; they were going to play the Ottawa Blues festival on July 2020. But then all hell broke loose.
The main reason KC will not even consider Canada now is because of the 14 day quarantine rule still in place when entering from abroad or the USA.
Nice to see that they can play Denver. Now let's see if they actually book a gig here
Will they be bringing Toyah along as a dancer / vocalist?
I am hoping the Northampton show will be at the Academy of Music but could be the Calvin. I prefer the former.
I never thought the day I would see Mr. Fripp turn into a skinhead!!
Looks better than his Drive to 1981 haircut, though I get itchy just watching him get buzzed without using a frock/poncho thingy.
first 70 year old Rock artist to don a fin
have you seen the Paranoid video?
titillating
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Coming up this Saturday I'll be chatting with Henry Potts and Aymeric Leroy about The History of King Crimson. We'll take a look at 1969 - 1974. This is the follow up to our series about Yes. I'll share it here once it's uploaded to YouTube.
You might have heard some of this before, but never quite like this...

Waiting on the Monday June 7 official announcement by DMG on Tour 2021
The one thing that is for sure: Canada is not in those plans.
