My boss gives me the time off and now one of the other superintendents schedules a meeting for me on Friday morning. Now I don`t know if I`ll arrive Friday around 3:00pm or 9:00pm.

OK it is official: I am able to be there on Friday and my wife will be absent all weekend. My wife is working and I stumbled into a situation where I could solve a problem for a superintendent becauase of sheer luck, so I've been reprieved! Counting the sleeps....

Tony, glad to see you got your priorities straight! It would have sucked having to feign a 'called in dead' routine with only one Easter Sunday a year!

Timing is everything, Dale. I had a staffing meeting with the superintendent who wanted me to go to another meeting on Friday. The principal in the staffing meeting before me had a situation that caused a conflict between senior admin and the union. As I waited, the union head saw me standing there and mockingly asked if I had this random situation for next year. Strangely enough, I did. It allowed the superintendent to solve a big problem, got the union off his back, and made the principal happy. The superintendent asked me, "How can I thank you?"

He shouldn't have asked the question. The manipulations I have to do just to drink an IPA with you, Dale! At least I don't have to ship my Blackberry to my daughter for the weekend.
