    Bootcut / Organ Duo

I ‘ ve picked up all 3 Bootcut releases recently and think they are a terrific addition to my rabbit hole of organ duos and trios . So Elephant9, Niacin , Bootcut make quite a trio of listening in themselves . More left field would be German band Sixty-Nine . Looking for more Organ duo/ trio type stuff , perhaps the more obscure stuff .

Check out this Organ/Drum duo from Boston, Duo Junk:

    https://spacejunkisforever.bandcamp.com/album/duo-junk

They're an offshoot of Space Junk is Forever:

    Both are awesome.

I'd never heard of Bootcut. I'll sample those later.

Medeski, Martin, and Wood immediately comes to mind. Also, Ståle Storløkken appears on several other Rune Grammofon releases, including newer albums from Krokofant and Hedvig Mollestad.

Primarily Clavinet rather than organ, but I highly recommend Mumpbeak and especially their album Tooth:

Roy Powell is the Hendrix of the Clavinet.

It is also worthwhile to mention that half of Bootcut is Rikard Sjoblom of Beardfish and Big Big Train fame. Some folks ought to be inclined to check them out purely based on that.

Bill , thanks again , you’ve suggested some great stuff. I ‘ ve been in touch with Jordan from Space Junk and have just managed to get hold of almost the last vinyl copy of the debut , really enjoy the Duo Junk project. Unfortunately they are no more partially down to drummer being snapped up for bigger things I believe. I ‘ ve also discovered in similar vein London Underground from Italy , spin of from Standarte and next will be looking at Trummor and Ogle though I think it ‘s more soul/ psychedelic .

Not a duo, but have you heard Rikard's "Cyklonmannen" project?

Glad you made contact with Jordan. I was lucky to see him play with Payton Taylor as Duo Junk, and she was amazing. I don't think she's the drummer on the album, but I think she'd taken over, at least for a while. It's hard to keep good musicians from Berklee engaged for long. They graduate, or move on to other gigs.

I always got the sense that Space Junk and Duo Junk were essentially Jordan and whoever else he'd assemble for a given project, but that does get tiring after a while, so I'm not surprised they've called it day.

Just couple of recent finds which I can add if anyone is looking for newer Hammond driven albums

EGO from Italy have an excellent instrumental album

    https://youtu.be/_P5eabZY6R8?si=czkAK5iB1cl-WHfc

Really enjoying the US band Space Junk is Forever material ( unfortunately Jordan has told me they are no more )

London Underground from Italy are more soul/ psyche but excellent listen

Three Monks , are unusual in that the main keyboard is Pipe Organ but very good

Jonas Hellborg Group E , a wild ride with power organ trio

    Please keep them coming
