Even by Mary’s exceedingly high standards, it was an exemplary performance.

On all levels; performance of all the players, Mary’s compositions (including a bunch of new ones!) and her playing, which was just mind-boggling

People who are attending Big Ears should make an extra effort to see them.

I loved Amaryllis album I would really like to see Mary Halvorson live. She is in fact coming to Finland to play in Pori Jazz festival next summer but not with her own band but as a part of Myra Melford’s Fire & Water Quintet.

I really don't want to be negative here -- I think Mary Halvorson is amazing and I have always liked reading your various reviews. But I saw the note saying "This review has been translated to English using Open AI" and I think that was not a good decision. Unlike your other English-language reviews, this writing looks amateurish, something a high school student might come up with, and lacking the personality and character you usually demonstrate. (I felt that way while reading it even before I saw the note at the bottom.) And I'm sure you didn't intend that. These AI chatbots in general exhibit a similar lack of style when answering human questions.

Whatever you were doing before, whether it was your own language skills, Google Translate or whatever, I wish you would go back to that.

I saw her with her sixtet last year in the Netherlands. Absolutely fantastic, one of the best concerts of the year.
I also love Cloudward, but maybe not quite as much as Amaryllis/Belladonna. She is my favorite guitar player at the moment.

I did try this and you're right. Apart from simple errors like getting Halvorson's gender wrong, and some odd choices for adjectives (I assume what was translated as "peculiar" is something more like "unique"), it would take a fair amount of work to clean it up and I wouldn't want to be the one to do it since I don't understand the original as well as you would.

What GT and AI have in common is some degree of repetition in phrasing and word choice that wouldn't occur in a natural human writer's output.

Still, either way one gets the complete story of what you like about the recordings and the musicianship, and I'm glad you make the effort to share it with those of us who could never read the original.
