    The 2023 NFL Discussion Thread

I am starting the new thread for the year…which times well as we are into free agency.

Whadda y’all think about Jimmy G to the Black and Silver? Will it make a difference? Should they have courted Rodgers?

Jimmy G is a game manager, which is fine if he has enough talent around him to carry the load. However, that's not what he's likely to have in Vegas. Also, he gets hurt a lot. I don't know what the Raidizz O-Line is like specifically, but I don't think it's a strength, which could spell trouble for Jimmy.

Ravens lost one of the best offensive guards to the Broncos.

The Jets should absolutely not sign Rodgers and pay those same picks and $$ for Lamar....

I will keep saying this for no reason at all; aside from the fact it's the best option left.

I think they should add sound effects to every thrown flag this season. Fart sounds would work for me because that's always funny, but obviously and sadly that would never happen. Instead maybe a gong? Wooden wind chimes? Firecracer brick? Just some random thoughts...

Maybe the explanation could be in a Sam Kinison voice.

The Lions acquire David Montgomery from The Bears. I suspect this will mean the end of the Jamal Williams era in Detroit. Williams has become a fan favorite and had a great year this year, but he is a free agent and probably wanting to get paid. I was really hoping he would get re-signed, but it is what it is. Montgomery should make an immediate impact with the team, sharing duties with De’Andre Smith.

Panthers got Andy Dalton for 2 years, presumably to mentor the #1 pick QB they're going to snag.

Ha! I mean, he's a 3x Pro-Bowl QB, 100 more TD than INT over his career. He has the skills and league experience to help develop younger talent. Anyone getting drafted that high is going to come in with their own style already. Better Dalton than Darnold or Mayfield.

Looks like all those mocks showing the Cowboys taking an RB in Round 1 instead of a CB may be onto something:

Something they should have done 3-4 seasons ago. Talk about Shaun Alexanderitus... the poster child for why you don't give running backs huge contracts.

Tyler Huntley for the Ravens made the pro bowl this year. Just saying.

And literally every play/call should be reviewable, period. And you should have unlimited challenges if you keep winning them. Lose a challenge and you're done, or maybe lose 2 challenges - whatever. But it's pretty clear by now that the officiating cannot keep up with the speed of the game and teams should not be punished for officials' incompetence.
