A great bandoneon player who I think deserves to be mentioned in this thread is Rodolfo Mederos (yes, bandoneon is not an accordeon, but they are closely related). I would recommend his albums with his band Generación Cero: "Fuera de broma", "De todas maneras" and "Todo Hoy". All great works.
The Whip by Welcome features an accordion solo around the 6 minute mark.

One of my favourite proggy accordion albums is Immeasurable Currents (2011) by Dave Willey And Friends. Very nice album with lots of cool accordion moments. Accordionist Dave Willey is best known from his work with Hamster Theater. Immeasurable Currents operates charmingly somewhere between avant-prog and pop.

Flavio Premoli can be heard playing the accordion on Fabrizio De André's "Le nuvole", mostly folk-music oriented album from 1990.

Haven't seen Alamaailman Vasarat listed yet, the track 7 to track 8 combination from the Vasaraasia album can get stuck in the head pretty easy.

French RIO ensemble Tracteur use various instruments and an accordion as well. On the opening track called "Banana Noïse" from their self-titled debut album (2019), one can heard an avant-garde structure with an inserted traditional European folk-music led by, you can guess, an accordion:

Nimal was a RIO formation led by Swiss multi-instrumentalist Momo Rossel who, among many other instruments, plays the accordion as well. Rossel's accordion works its way into the foreground and reinforces the wacky atmosphere, inspired by avant-garde, European folklore and Classical music.
"In Tenda" & "Tarotska" (from "Voix De Surface", 1990)
Troisième Rive was a French progressive folk-rock sextet that created a magnificent music featuring the accordion. Their debut album titled "Banlieues" (translate "Suburbs") is certainly one of the best albums ever made in this genre.

Belgian band Bal Des Boiteux made two great albums with plenty of accordian. Somewhere in the Julverne or Conventum sort of area.
