Definitely a lot more prominent in the avant and RIO sub-genres from what I know.
Thinking Plague & Hamster Theatre tend to feature it afaik.

One of my favourites of them all:

I do like a bit of squeezebox if it is done tastefully. My sig kind of says it all (but I can say it because I play it)

There's a band I like a lot from Argentina called Pampa Trash who feature Bandoneon.

    https://pampa-trash.bandcamp.com/alb...ngo-progresivo

They have another album in addition to this one, but it's not on Bandcamp.

I also like Ghost Rhythms a lot.

Stian Carstensen, Alec Redfearn ("Fire Shuffle" is brilliant, btw!), Alexis Collin of Ghost Rhythms - these were the ones that also sprang to my mind.

    Also, Perrin Cloutier of Beirut:

^ It's typically a sub-genre of the "real" prog, which is why it intends openly to imitate Genesis and Yes. They are the best in true prog.

There's a new Yes record coming very soon, and there's a tour by Genesis as well. Which I'd actually attend if I'd have enough moneys.

We'll all live tomorrow too, albeit perhaps not with the "prog".

More metal than prog, but these guys are great. Not sure if they are still together:

What's really great about digital ages is all the possibilities it offers. Now you can for instance even play off two YT-videos at once, which in a sense enhances and enlarges both!

Sorry to reference a non-Prog song, but my favorite accordion laced track of all time is "This Is The Day" by The The, in which Wix Wickens knocks it out of the park (especially the 5 minute plus extended version). The video is quite cool as well, even though it's the shorter version of this outstanding tune. The instrument as played here never sounded so good to me as it fits right into the bands sound.

I don't care what anyone says - I love John Evan's use of the accordion on Tull's War Child. He has some nice melody lines and it fits in with the album's lighter touch.
"Arf." -- Frank Zappa, "Beauty Knows No Pain" (live version)

How about "Skating Away .." on the live Bursting Out? Fits in very nicely
