    Yesterday:

    Masao Ohki - Symphony 5 'Hiroshima'/Japanese Rhapsody
    Arnold Bax - Symphony 7/Tintagel
Leevi Madetoja - Symphony 3/Okon Fuoko Suite

  3. #6428
Niedeckens Bap - Zeitreise / Live im Sartory CD 1 (Live-album where they play their 3th and 4th album and some other tracks that are from their first live-album. They don't play the songs in the order of the album, like for instance Kansas did, but well, Bap, or Niedeckens Bap is not a prog band)
Gong - Gazeuse! (I prefer this Pierre Moerlen jazz-rock Gong over the earlier Gong)
Anne Clark - Syneathesia CD 1 (not prog)
Maschine - Mein Weg (Former frontman of Die Puhdys, who is still active even if he is 79 years old)
    Depeche Mode - Memento Mori

Speaking of cassette tapes I had that Gowan on tape a long time ago. I'll probably look for it again on cd at some point. That was a very good one (with Alex Lifeson on guitar!). That Geddy Lee isn't too bad either.

Yowza! Is this the band with the rather challenging female vocals? If so, I have their CD, but didn't know there was a cassette. Nor do I want it! It's just funny that you listened to it.

Into The Epicenter was never released on CD but their second (and final) full length album, Starlight Tales, was. I've heard other people say similiar things about the vocals but I've never really noticed and they never bothered me; in fact I rather like them (same thing with Epidaurus). Just about the only place you can find the tape that I bought(Into the Epicenter) is on discogs. Greg Walker has it on vinyl though. Anyway, yeah I just recently bought it. This is my third time owning the tape. I had the cd of Starlight Tales a long time ago but ITE is a bit better imo. Episode were around from the mid 80s to the mid 90s. It's too bad they broke up when they did (after they played Progfest in 94) since the "modern" era of prog was just starting to pick up around then.

I forgot they played ProgFest. I didn't realize you just bought it - sorry to put it down. Starlight Tales has some historical charm to me at this point, really. And her vocals aren't bad, though I do remember some negative comments in reviews, possibly reviews of their ProgFest performance itself.

So you only have Starlight Tales? Anyway, everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you don't like it you don't like it. I personally do but I will admit part of that is sentimental since they were probably the first really obscure prog band I heard of. The short version of the story is I attended a Yes convention in NJ in 1987 and there was a guy there with flyers for the band. I got on their mailing list and that led me to not just hearing their music but helping me to become aware of the underground prog scene. In their own small way they were important in helping to make prog relevant again in the US.
