Stratospheerius has been one of my favorite bands for years - led by electric violinist/vocalist Joe Deninzon, they have had a bit of a rotating lineup, but always a solid 4-piece. For their new song, they have some special guests including Saga's Michael Sadler on vocals, Rachel Flowers on piano and flute, and Fernando Perdomo on additional guitars. Engineered by Rave Tesar from Renaissance and mixed and mastered by Rich Mouser. A little bit different for them, but a really stunning song:

"So honored to be featured on this incredible song by Joe Deninzon and Stratuspheerius called "Storm Surge" which features the incredible lead vocals of Michael Sadler of Saga (Canadian Royalty!!) , Rachel Flowers who plays a gorgeous Flute soloand Ruti Celli on Cello . I love Joe's music and he was featured on my Out to Sea 2 Record playing violin on "Super Woofer" .. This song is insane and I am honored to play the first electric solo and a classical guitar solo .."

The Sonic Perspective review gave this background on the song:

"The idea came when Deninzon heard his son playing “The Storm” by 19th century composer and pianist Friederich Burgmuller. The music and the theme stuck in his head, and Joe re-envisioned it as a rock power-ballad. He began imagining certain instrumentations and soloists who would fit the piece and arrangement. "
