And no mentioning of bands from eastern europe before 1989 !

Actually, mention of an Eastern European band from (20 years) before 1989 would be apropos to this thread...
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.

I was alarmed by the exotic British location. He could be real

Plus, he didn't reprimand anyone for any incorrect sub-sub-sub-genre.

I just finished listening to Jonny Mac's Extrapolation and it is not how I remember it that last time I heard it (prolly 30 years ago)
gotta take this one off my 'best of' 69 list

the s/t Coryell album from 69 is definitely better
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

They were supposed to appear at the Randall's Island Pop Festival in NYC in the summer of '70, for which we drove up from Virginia. Miles was a no-show as well, but Jimi made it.

This is a truly badass piece of ‘69 jazz. IMO Vitous never improved upon it.

I believe Infiny Search was released in 1970 though it was recorded late 1969.

Universal Syncopations (2003) is even better.

Colosseum's Valentyne Suite is, in my opinion, one of the gems of 1969. I wrote a review of it: https://pienemmatpurot.com/review-co...ne-suite-1969/

Totally agree, and it's also mentioned on page 1 by yours truly.

I think it's always useful to mention the confusion between the different artworks and track lists (not to mention line-up changes) of their first two albums according to which side of the Atlantic you were.
Mainly because the North Am public (yours truly included) discovered Valentyne Suite on Those About To Die.
Indeed The Grass Is Greener (same picture used as VS) is a very different album - with a lot of tracks unavailable elsewhere (especially those with Clempson singing)unless in specific compilations
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

1969 - I was 15, living in England and buying my first albums, so the few I could afford that year were, and remain, very important:

    Caravan -Ist
Van Der Graaf Generator- Aerosol Grey Machine
    Soft Machine - 2
    Family- Family Entertainment
    High Tide- Sea Shanties
East of Eden - Mercator Projected
