2018? I didn't know such a thing existed. I've got the old Cuneiform reissues, but I"m pretty sure I've had those for a 2-3 years by now.
I have the vinyl and it sounds fantastic!
no tunes, no dynamics, no nosebone
Note: What Udi is talking about is a VINYL-only reissue that includes remixed versions of most, but not all, of the album.
Haven't heard it myself - I don't do vinyl.

Haven't heard it either, but has been told that the major difference is that the bass level has been lowered.
It is on Youtube, but listening via internet 128 kbps and YT-compression I cant say there is a significant difference.
Vinyl only - no Nogbad

I blame Wynton, what was the question?
There are only 10 types of people in the World, those who understand binary and those that don't.
From what I recall, Etienne Conod was asked specifically to give Ceux a different makeover than the first two, largely acoustically-based UZ albums. While I'd agree that the original ReR vinyl is rather heavy on the bass, I wouldn't say that's the primary difference - still it's the one alteration I tend to manipulate manually when spinning the record. The main contrast, I think - besides the somewhat more 'positive' feel of the music itself (well, everything's relative) - was the introduction of that electric piano. A trait which actually turned out to work well in the context of their new material.
What a blastingly fantastic album this is!
"Improvisation is not an excuse for musical laziness" - Fred Frith
"[...] things that we never dreamed of doing in Crimson or in any band that I've been in," - Tony Levin speaking of SGM
I have never thought that the bass was to loud, but the funny drum sound have always puzzled me.
I like it and it fits the music, but it is rather peculiar.
Here is the digital edition

i listened briefly and compared to my Cuneiform cd
i must say its a bit puzzling
will write more in details after some deeper listening
Now you're confusing me, that say 2016, is that the same remix or a different one?

I own the original vinyl. I'm I missing something?
I have it and I have heard it Several times.
IMO It isnt radically different. It is interesting and ok but not really a revelation in the way that the first album's reappearance was [at least to me].
Mostly, DD undermixed Guy Segers (what a surprise) and a few buried details were given greater prominence.
I am very glad I have it, but it isnt a radical change either good or bad...

Remember, if it doesn't say "Cuneiform," it's not prog! - THE Jed Levin
Any time any one speaks to me about any musical project, the one absolute given is "it will not make big money". [tip of the hat to HK]
"Death to false 'support the scene' prog!"
please add 'imo' wherever you like, to avoid offending those easily offended.
I personally could not hear enough of a difference in that digital version to justify rebuying.

The Bandcamp page is a bit amateur-ish, with some rather appalling misspellings - Jean Defebve becomes "Jean Lefebvre" (a famous French actor), and "Ilona Chale" becomes "Hona Chale".
Has this really been available for download since January 2016, as the page seems to claim ? Even the vinyl release I don't remember happening nearly four years ago...

On headphones, it sounds like they miked a boombox playing the original mix. No stereo separation, no bass below 100 Hz but then a fairly large hump 100-200 Hz, & everything sounds slightly distant. I kept checking my headphones to make sure they were plugged in all the way -- they sounded like they weren't.
One of U.Zero's strengths has always been the pellucid quality of their recordings -- the live one in particular. This remix totally loses that.
Listening to this album I marvel at the medieval flavor
Love it
If you love this album (like I do), and still buy LPs then you should get this.
The sound stage is dynamic & deep with lots of detail.
I never owned the original vinyl, but this one blows the CD out of the water , imo.
no tunes, no dynamics, no nosebone
I have had the vinyl since 82 or 83
Love it
Ceux de Dehors might come on CD as a part of a box set.

I would certainly prefer it as a stand alone album.
