    Yes-Magnification vinyl release

Yeah, just what we need another thread about the Affimitives. Still, this is more of an FYI post than anything else.
Yes' Magnification album will be out on vinyl for the first time in May (USA) and March in Europe.

And while we are at it, the Prog Collective album is now on vinyl as well.

    3LPs is a lotta flippin'
"Always ready with the ray of sunshine"

Looks like it's a three-sided double album, actually.

I'll probably end up getting this. Magnification and Talk are my two favorite Yes albums post-Drama.

Side 3 at 23 minuets ? Isn't that pushing it for audiophile ??

I thought that was odd, too. They could have just as easily bumped "Soft As a Dove" to side three, coupled it with "Dreamtime," and put the last two songs on side four. That would have broken down to roughly 17.5 minutes / 17 minutes / 13 minutes / 12.5 minutes.

sorry, for some reason I thought "in the Presence of" was much earlier in the album but I just checked my CD's. I was probably thinking of the first tour playing Mag stuff where they played "Don't Go" and "In the Presence of" early in the set list.

This is the same company that released the Open Your Eyes vinyl last year. They did a great job with that. So I think this will be of the same quality.

This is *exactly* how I had imagined a vinyl release of Magnification would end up being! A shame they're cramming the last 3 tracks on to one side like that.

Hopefully the snaps and crackles and pops in the vinyl will keep listeners awake better than the CD did....

If you play it backwards, it will say "Jon is Dead"
High Vibration Go On - R.I.P. Chris Squire

About the Prog Collective, I think I may have liked the instrumental versions, in some cases, that were included on the vinyl more than the originals ... Some great players on there ...

I think my favorite track is the Annie Haslam/Peter Banks tune, Social Circles. Really nice work on that.

I know there was a three-sided Johnny Winter album from way back. I've never seen it, so I'm not sure how the blank side was done.

Utopia did a 3-sided album with their self-titled release in the 80s. I believe Joe Jackson's "Big World" was also 3 sides.

Monty Python's Matching Tie and Handkerchief was touted as a three-sided album- on one disc!! One side had two separate grooves on it.

Genesis's "Calling All Stations" was released on three sides with the fourth side containing an etching of the band.

yep, i have this- very cool

Yeah, I've got it too and it is very cool. Neil Young's Psychadelic Pill is 3 LP's and side 6 has an etching too. The Johnny Winter album has a blank side for the 2nd side of the 2nd LP.

or, since they have a spare side, used all four of 'em.

^ Which is what I said.

Bill, thanks for mentioning Neil Young! I didn't know he had a new album out. I checked out some clips last night and went out and bought the album today. This is the best Neil I've heard since probably "Ragged Glory."
