^ Thanks for breaking it down. I've always thought the Strat neck didn't appear as wide as the Les Paul, but I've never owned a Strat, so have made no hands-on comparisons.

Yay. Recently watched his interview with Andy Sommers of the Police. Great interview. Andy is a Telecaster God.
Great interview with Morse.
I could listen to Steve Morse play and talk all day. It's hard watching him get old
Rick has been posting some awesome interviews recently, and IMO that's one of his main contributions to the interwebs. But for every great interview he also throws up a list video that's as bad as most Rolling Stone lists. To whit: For some reason this one from 4 years ago popped into my feed. I closed my eyes and clicked, and pretty quickly regretted that I did. Yet again, it's a list that's over-populated by 90's metal, indie and grunge. Chris Squire only appears on the 'honorable mention' list for "I'm Running".

Hey, at least he got "Runnin' with the Devil," right?
In fairness to Beato, how many Yes songs have true bass intros? (And "On the Silent Wings of Freedom" technically doesn't, since it opens with a guitar chord...)
I'm actually more disturbed about the lack of John Entwhistle -- "The Real Me," at least, deserved an honorable mention (or, if he wanted to be more conservative about it, "Boris the Spider," which is pretty damn iconic).
Edit to add: Just listened to "The Real Me" -- yep,it begins with a guitar chord also. Never mind...

Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.
^ I didn't watch the video, but I would think that "Schism" and "Californication" have to be on that list.
Any guitar players out there made the plunge for Beato's new guitar "arpeggio masterclass"?

Into the Lens! So impressive! ;-)
Does it Really Happen? Impressive!!
How about 'Beyond and Before'? First sounds you hear from the band on the debut album - quite a statement, IMO.

Happy with what I have to be happy with.
This is the list I came up with for that YT thread. Yeah, some aren't true "bass only intros", but neither are several of his own picks.
CS bass intros:
- "Beyond and Before"
- "Harold Land"
- "Survival"
- "Heart of the Sunrise" (should have made the list)
- "Ritual"
- "On the Silent Wings of Freedom"
- "Does It Really Happen?" (should have made the list)
- "Into the Lens"
- "City of Love"
- "I'm Running" (at least he got a runner up )
- "Real Love"
- "The Messenger"
... and more

Insight into a working musician. The comments are very interesting too.

Fascinating interview. Learned a lot. Prog connection is that Tim worked with Toy Matinee.
I saw that Omartian interview yesterday. Great, great interview. Rick's interviews are interesting.
What I like about the interviews Rick Beato is doing but also the ones Sunset Sound is doing is that it is preserving first hand accounts of people who were involved in what arguably can be described as the golden age of the recording industry. We don't have much time left anymore before a lot of these people are gone. The Omartian interview was a great watch and made me listen to the song Aja again with quite fresh ears. There is this one very odd piano figure (I believe it only appears once in the whole song) that I had never noticed but now I can't 'unhear' it anymore :-). And then there is the fact that a lot of times the piano is actually doubling the vocal melody.
Great, great interview with Omartian. My only regret is that they didn't talk about his superb work with Loggins & Messina on their first 2 albums.
What we feel we have to solve is why the dregs have not dissolved.
