Agree, I think it is actually a great lineup with many generations and genres represented.

I wonder if Pussy Riot will be singing in their native Russian, or translated to English.

I'm surprised at how many acts linked to the original are still alive...given the culture of the time.

I think the Pussies are there mostly for political reasons

Or in any kind of shape as to do a concert, FTM

Is Dead & Company (first name on day 3) related to Greateful Dead??
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

Dead & Company is a band consisting of former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir (guitar), Mickey Hart (drums), and Bill Kreutzmann (drums), along with John Mayer (guitar), Oteil Burbridge (bass/drums), and Jeff Chimenti (keyboards).

thx, I thought it would be something of that ilk.

I'm kind of surprised that the Allman, Gvt Mule or Phish are not on the list.

    Are all three still touring?

The Allmans certainly aren't, what with both brothers being dead now.

I saw Miley Cyrus on the list, and thought this wasn't a good idea. But then again, there was Sha Na Na at the original, so...

Plus, they didn't play at the original event.

Phish and Govt Mule have their own festivals. The big Phish fest was supposed to be at Watkins Glen last year, but New York State cancelled it.

Woodstock 50th interests me mainly for Friday (Santana, Robert Plant, Nathaniel Rateliff, Ninet Tayeb). But they may not sell single day passes unless weekend passes undersell.

But all together at first glance, I didn't see any southern rock acts (at least in the ones I know) on this edition's line-up

But there are good acts on all three days.

Some good stuff, but I've never heard of most of these.
Where’s the line up for the 50th

Besides which, the band actually retired a couple years before Gregg went home.

FWIW, I was able to get the legendary David Byrd, the designer of the original Woodstock poster (before it was relocated from Wallkill to White Plains), to sign and authenticate my copy. It's in the mail to his home in LA right now.

That's as close as I'll get to a 50th anniversary celebration.

Well, there's still a 50th Anniversary concert, with Santana and Ringo, at the site of the original. I don't know what's going to happen there; Carlos is talking about getting rappers and some other modern music stuff going on.

I suppose you mean sponsors... and not iconic bands.
