Glass Hammer - Chronomonaut Tapes - Tom is back or at least he was...

Chronometree was only a small part of Tom's story. What happened after 1979 only got stranger. He's left us some video which he made in 1983 and we think you'll find it curious. Some of you may have been following Tom's "Elf King" threads here on PE. If so, you may have seen these already. We'll release more soon.

Now I'm just confused. Does Elf King have something to do with Glass Hammer?

Furthermore, was he elected Elf King, or simply born into the position?

Brad Marler was Glass Hammer's best vocalist and Chronometree was their best album. HELL YEAH!!!!

I'm beginning to think so. This is fun!

Or maybe he took the position by force and overthrew the previous monarch?

I've been following this saga on their FB page as well, some interesting thoughts and theories.
At any rate, very interesting and entertaining way of promoting their forthcoming new release, who knows Tom may even may a guest appearance if they can find him.

Have you seen Tom? We know he was recently posting to PE about time travel, and yes, the voices were back. This guy is the ultimate prog fan and he has always taken the music way too seriously. Well...call us if you have any ideas about where (or when) he might be.

I like this. This is fun.

An excellent point! He may be more the "rough & tumble" sort of king.

Thanks! I think I've managed to trace Tom's whereabouts to this location:

Tom was the band leader of The Elf King back in the early 80s. His Chronometree experiments were in 1979 so this came later. But then as Tom says in video #1, "Time is all bendy", so who knows what year any of it happened? Anyway he tried to resurrect the band earlier this year and most of you have heard the results. (video link below). The final mix was less than he hoped for though and the response was "meh", at least on PE. Having heard the band "back in the day" I can tell you he didn't really recapture the vibe, but then he was much younger. That's why he started talking about "time travel" again I'm guessing. He wants to go back and start over. Haven't we all thought of doing that on occasion? Of course in Tom's case, he really means go back.

If that's not Fred & Steve on keys & bass, I'll eat my hat. I suspect it is Fred on drums too?

Maybe he was turned to steel in the great magnetic field, where he traveled time, for the future of mankind?

I've suggested to GH that they perform Age Progression on Tom's photo so we can all know what he would look like today.
As mentioned to them, I swear I saw someone that could've been Tom at the recent Yes concert in Clearwater, Fl.
As I was standing in line to get myself a bottle of water and some wine for my wife, a middle aged man was speaking to his companion about how he had sent a cassette of some of his music to Yes, but Yes responded by returning the tape with a friendly note saying they were not accepting songs from outside the group...could it have been Tom? was he visiting Florida? does he live here?
I'll never forget that look in his eyes when he spoke of his tape being returned...goosebumps!!

That sounds like him. Odd though, as we could have passed the tape on to Jon ourselves. But...knowing the material, we probably wouldn't have. So you may have actually seen Tom.

Twin Peaks… Yes, I couldn't put my finger on it, but the vibe was somehow familiar…
