Thread: Stoner!

^It is definitely on my list. This is a project from the drummer of Kanaan who is also the current Motorpsycho drummer. (That “current” designation seems fair given the revolving door of drummers in the Psychonaut story.) I imagine Laser or Wayside will stock eventually. If not, I’m fine with ordering from Stickman Records.

Big fan of the previous two, but I wasn't to thrilled with this one to be honest and that Hall and Oates cover on there is just kind of out of place.

Yeah. Not sure about “Sara Smiles,” but I’ve liked everything else on it.

This popped up on my radar, too. Bummed that it would cost $30 to ship from Japan. Looks like a nice package, too. I’ll probably download it next Bandcamp Friday.

Have benn recently on a binge shopping spree of "heavies" from the likes of Ripple Music, Shadow Kingdom and Indie Merchendise. Had a huge backlog of titles, especially of the new titles from Ripple Music. More than 20 CDs will take me some time to digest. Well, it is of my own doing so I am not complaining.
One thing bugged me though. The sixteen titles from RM bought from their Big Cartel website came at the whopping shipping cost of $40. Is it reasonable? To be truthfull the order was split while awaiting the release of the new Thunder Horse live album, but still seems outragoeus as the shipping cost was calculated up front. On the other hand, their titles at other websites have higher price tags so at the end the totals were relatively comparable. Though if not for the 20% coupon I was able to apply not sure I would go with it.

And one more post perhaps of the most interest to all into this music.

Tomorrow is to be released officially the new 2nd full album from the band Stonekind. Seems they will have vinyl copies available in few weeks (from the German label Electric Spark), on their bandcamp website, so you would have to wait a bit. Seemingly they will have available CD-R of it (as was the case with their first full album), that they did themselves. The first on was a good quality, so hopefully this one will be the same way. This is the format I am opting for.

Two songs from the new album are available for listening, so you can check it out if it is of interest to you. I really liked their 1st album so this one is no brainer and then it seems to be heavier than the previous one. Good hunting

^That’s the good stuff! Thanks for the rec! And, hey, they’re local (ish).

Second album from Sons of Arrakis is available. More soaring vocals, more twin guitar goodness, more spice flowing. Highly recommended.
