The Argentinian Composer Alberto Ginastera
If you're familiar with ELP's Brain Salad Surgery album, the track identified as Toccata is in fact an adapation of the fourth movement of Ginastera's 1st piano concerto.
And since Steve Feigenbaum mentioned Bartok, it's worth noting, for anyone who doesn't already know, that The Barbarian, from the first ELP album, is pretty much Allegro Barbaro. Bartok's widow had to sue the band to get it acknowledged as such in the byline.
