I bought their first album Continuum when it was released in 2006. It's excellent! I tend to prefer their instrumental work over their music with vocals. Antony Kalugin is unstoppable!

Birds of Passage is a really good album IMO. Probably my favorite of his.![]()
I just discovered these guys, they popped up on my YT feed, after I found the Sound of Strangers Crossing Borders album.
I went with his collaboration band, Sunchild.
I ordered the !0th Anniversary Breaking Free CD/DVD and it just arrived. The DVD runs at 25fps(which is PAL), but I found a way of converting it with my Video Editing software. A very long process but it worked. The show is awesome, have yet to listen to the CD version which is included.

Birds of Passage is next when we have some pennies saved up.
The catalogue is so huge, as you say Bruce, Antony is unstoppable.
Are they still in Ukraine? I wonder if they evacuated or not. Oh, and the artwork by the Ukrainian artist is beautiful.

Antony has remained in Ukraine as far as I can tell. He made a short video about how he and his family were getting along not too long after the war started.
Thanks Bruce..I just visited his FB page, and did a friend request.

Good to know he's in Poland. Let the endless stream of music continue!
Thanks guys for the info and the YT songs.
We are really enjoying the Breaking Free Tour DVD concert, it will be awhile before getting anything new.
Right now, and from samples I've listened to, all his music is great, but I find I give the edge to SunChild the most.

A new release from AK's Karfagen band, listening now, really love it -it also features Colin Bass on one track

New release coming next month called Land Of Chameleons

I wonder how Antony was able to leave Ukraine. Ukraine won't allow men aged 18-60 to leave Ukraine.
In the original post, you asked about Ukrainian prog bands. I want to add my latest faves, Jinjer, to that list. They come from Donetsk, have been given leave to spread the word on Ukraine and are phenomenal musicians more metalcore than prog, but with prog overtones- Have world class singer Tatiana Shmayluk, phenomenal drummer Vlad Uleshev, and a truly great bassist in Eugene Abdiukhenov, with Roman Ibramkhalilov on guitar.
