Jethro Tull celebrates 50th Anniversary with new collections

Of course there have been a ton of different vinyl editions of Aqualung over the years, with different "flaws" appearing here and there. US vinyl pressings were botched right from the beginning, with the opening riff of the title track left off. (There should be two riffs before the vocal, not just one.) Later pressings had all kinds of glitches and splices (as did early CD editions), including losing the final verse of "Wind-Up."

Yea, chopping off the end of Wind-Up was un-remissible.

Tull through the 70's was sort of a soundtrack for me. They were for me the most consistent band with new releases every year and each one a unique entity in themselves. So what I did was made a compilation of one song that always stood out from each album onto a cdr.

Yea it’s not easy limiting it to just one song for sure but I was trying to be as concise as possible for one disc. That’s a nice list also. I love dun ringill.

I finally bought my copy. Disc 3 is for me THE best of the 50th Edition.

I'm more an electronic era Tull fan. Disc 3 includes songs from A (that was meant A for Anderson solo album but ended up as a Tull release), Broadsword & The Beast, and Under Wraps, all excellent albums IMHO.
If it would be really cool but does not apply, I would have included a couple from Walk Into Light that is a highlight in Ian's recording career.

I've seen TULL LIVe about 10-11 times and my very first was Passion Play in 1973 which was the biggest spectacle (including Hare) and the latest was Ian Anderson plays "Jethro Tull a Rock Opera" that was a let down.
But it's nice to celebrate 50 years of Tull in great fashion and with deserved pomp.
