Rock In Opposition Sep 14-16 2018

    From Michel:-

The 11th will be the 1st. Brand new groups. Great discoveries. Some names in December. Campaign subscription (yes, the times are hard ...) end of January with the possibility of buying tickets from that moment. Opening of the official box office at the end of March. The tariff will fall sharply for all beneficiaries of social minima. And as the visual indicates, it's war!
Good to hear it's back and will be focused on new bands. I have a few favorites I'm hoping to see booked.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

Here's the site for the festival, bands will start to be announced in December.

    http://www.rocktime.org/rio/index.php/en/

The site is about an hour north of Toulouse in the south of France. You can get there by car or train. There's a few American's there most years, me, Debi, Helaine, and a few other PE regulars. You can either stay on site at the hostel that's fairly minimalist or in the medieval town of Albi that's very nice. There are shuttles too and from the festival to Albi each day. The festival starts Friday evening with typically 3 bands then 2pm to 1am on Saturday & 2pm to around 11pm on Sunday.

I've been each of the last 7 years so any info needed just ask.

The opposition has escalated to war? Should be interesting, at the very least.

The my twisted optimistic mind I immediately thought the 'war' reference could be to Vezhlivy Otkaz who have just released an album called Military Verses. I can but dream.

Will definitively go, as far as only new bands will play.

I hope free salamander exhibit will be the headline of the festival !

They are on my list as well, along with PinioL & Vezhlivy Otkaz.

Ha, these 3 bands and its an autobuy as it can get, dont need anything else
Though none are really new for me (ok, free salamander is half new) but I am willing to compromise

Agreed for the comfort, it's youth hostel style, but with showers in each room and the location of the auberge is great, and you will have a nice view. The auberge has also a good kitchen and you can have good meals for a decent price. A nice feature, as most musicians sleep too at l'auberge you can have some nice breakfast encounters with your favorite artists or some spectacular emotional scenes like Daniel Denis crying angrily at Steve Feigenbaum at the breakfast table.... never got to know why so.
btw as most rooms are taken for musicians , techies etc it's wise to reserve early.

Don't exaggerate; he didn't cry. He 'merely' yelled and hit the table with his fist.

    Good times!
