Terribly sad news. He was a truly unique and truly PROGRESSIVE figure in music, as well as a charming and funny gentleman.

Mr. Death shows no mercy. Jaki just a few months ago and now Holger. I discovered Can around 1990 when their first CD issues came out and never looked back. Their music has been a major part of the soundtrack to my life for the last quarter century.

Damn. Great inovator, hugely influential on many levels. Gonna play Bel Air tonight. Thanks for the music and rest in peace.

Wow, I didn't realize that Jaki's death was so recent--it seems like it's been longer. Death, please take a holiday. Or a politician.

Yikes, I just caught up with the Czukay/Sylvian collaborations. He appears on several of my most favorite albums. What a loss.

    OH man, RIP Dear Holger.

Future Days was my morning commute spin this morning, Holger's grooving bass notes bouncing up and down and all around the car cabin. Thanks for the amazing music good sir. Can has become a favorite of mine over the past few years, so glad I discovered this incredible music.

Here's a little perspective: It loos like Czukay had a great life. When he was born in 1938, his life expectancy was 63, and he out-lived that by 14 years.

Someone 50 today was born with a life expectancy of 68 years but now is expected to live to 80. But that will be in the year 2047. No major medical advances in the 2020s, 2030s and 2040s?
