Was. Schellen hasn't played with them since 2014 and appears to have formally left. Kollman wasn't at their last show, although I don't know if that's just a temporary thing.

I didn't know Schellen was out. I think Jeff is still in - he may have missed the last show due to his commitments with Yazawa in Japan. But, AFJP hasn't been very active as of late - Payne was doing 'Raiding the Rock Vault' in Vegas and is now doing a similar all-star classic rock thing, 'The Rock Pack'. http://www.therockpack.com/concerts-1.html

I like most of the 1st WT album, some great songs but also some poor ones.

KG in YES would've been something! I like the WT and TM albums about equally but TM is definitely the more original sounding band of the two and musically more diverse.

Billy hates his voice on the debut. He said he sang wrong and almost lost his voice completely. On Euphoria he sang correctly and had no issues. Btw, The Big Peace,Billy's first solo album sounds pretty damned prog to me.

Holy 80s! Never heard this, but it definitely took me back to that time. It's too bad stuff like this was dead in the water by 1992. Bourgeois Tagg was another great band from that era. Billy's voice sounds great, but I can understand how you could easily burn yourself out trying to do that all the time.

Does the intro on here remind you of anything? https://youtu.be/GQNHkS_RDOQ

How can he hate his voice on the debut - he's never sounded stronger! I can understand that he may associate unpleasant memories with that time period if he almost blew out his voice. But, it sounds like that was mostly due to him applying a harmful vocal technique (due to inexperience). That may cloud the quality of his performance in his own mind but I've never heard a fan complain about Billy's vox on WT1.

Ask Billy. I just read it.

Good thinking on BTagg - Toy Matinee fans should dig these guys. Nice sophisticated prog pop/rock.

Another underrated band from that universe were The Szuters who were 'discovered' by Paul Gilbert and in an early incarnation featured Russ Parrish (now 'Satchel' in Steel Panther!) who joined Kevin Gilbert's band in the mid 90's and is on the 'Welcome to Joytown – Thud Live at the Troubadour' DVD/CD. 'Different Today' is one of the best songs The Beatles never wrote.

Oh well. Billy wouldn't be the first musician to hate something about himself most fans greatly enjoy.

I vaguely recall World Trade doing a few tracks on a Yes tribute album? (i.e. little-known bands doing cover versions of Yes songs)
You say Mega Ultra Deluxe Special Limited Edition Extended Autographed 5-LP, 3-CD, 4-DVD, 2-BlueRay, 4-Cassette, five 8-Track, MP4 Download plus Demos, Outtakes, Booklet, T-Shirt and Guitar Pick Gold-Leafed Box Set Version like it's a bad thing...

The band has 1 track each on three 1995 tribute albums from Magna Carta, Tales from Yesterday, Supper's Ready, and The Moon Revisited. However, all three appearances just feature Sherwood + Schellen.

I only know their hit, "I Don't Mind At All," but I loved that one. I guess I need to explore further.

I was in a band that opened for World Trade in the 80's at a big Casino gig - I talked with the all guys in the band, and we got on quite well. does that mean I may have met Billy Sherwood and not been aware of who he was?

It means that you are now free to form a band called Yes Featuring Yodelgoat.

This was their first (minor) hit as far as I know. I bought their first 2 records. Not sure if there were more. I can almost feel my mullet cascading over my shoulders now...

An upstart prog band like World Trade doing a casino gig in the 80's sounds highly unlikely. Are you sure you opened for THE World Trade and not another band with the same name?

They only had those two, from what I understand. Todd Rundgren produced their second album, and they were part of his backing band on his album Nearly Human.

I love Bourgeois Tagg too. Sometimes, like with "Waiting For The Worm To Turn", they reminded me of a less-quirky XTC. both of their albums are worth checking out IMO.

Definitely Word Trade. We covered the song On the loose(not at this gig). We knew it was the same band. It was a big gig - And they had advertised World Trade quite heavily. Yeah, And they were at a Casino.

I'm a bit confused. Are you mentioning covering 'On the Loose' because it's supposed to be a WT song? The only 'On the Loose' I'm aware of is by Saga.
