YES Hall of Fame Induction - schedule of events

Here is a list of activities and events happening around the Hall of Fame Induction for YES this week (hopefully this will help clear up any confusion about what/when things are happening) :

March 31 : The Museum Exhibit honoring the 2017 inductees opens on March 31 at the Museum, a week before the actual Ceremony. According to the Rock Hall Website :

" The 2017 Inductee exhibit will include a video in the “For Those About to Rock” theater highlighting speeches and special moments from past Induction Ceremonies and will be updated with 2017’s Inductees after this year’s Induction Ceremony takes place. There is also a video wall outfitted with soundbars powered by Klipsch Audio that will share interviews with the 2017 Inductees and behind-the-scenes footage from the Induction Ceremony and rehearsals".

April 5 (WED) : SIRIUS XM Volume Presents : "Artist Confidential With YES", 8-9 PM : "The hour-long event will feature an interview with the YES lineup of STEVE HOWE and ALAN WHITE. GEOFF DOWNES, JON DAVISON (vocals since 2011) and BILLY SHERWOOD (guitar/keyboards in the '90s and the late CHRIS SQUIRE's choice to take over bass/vocals in 2015), plus a few acoustic performances".

At least 2 shows on the VOLUME channel (106) were giving away tickets yesterday for fans who live in the NY area. If you live in the NY area you might tune in again today, there's a good chance they will be giving away tickets.
(FYI - For those who don't have Sirius XM streaming you can get a free one-week trial of Sirius streamable on your computer. Only asks for e-mail, no credit card required for signup)

April 7 (FRI) : VOLUME channel on Sirius XM will be broadcasting live from the Press Room at the Barclays Center beginning mid-day, and will have interviews with band members (when they can get them), Live news coverage, and music/discussion of all the bands being inducted.

April 29 : The actual HBO telecast of the ceremony and concert (which btw will be edited, so I wouldn't count on all of YES' performance to be televised), is scheduled for 12:00 midnight, April 29 (SUN), and will be shown only on the "HBO Zone" channel. Apparently, it will be shown pretty much all day on April 30 on that channel, and rebroadcast several times during the following week.

LOL. They are obviously expecting a big audience for this.

FWIW, the all of the performances usually end up on Youtube, so if there is some Yes that doesn't get broadcast you can probably see it there.

I'm curious if they will have the traditional big jam at the end. Will they save Roundabout for that, or go for something easier to play like ELO's "Roll Over Beethoven" ?

What's the schedule for the tank battle between the two Yes camps out in the Barclays Center parking lot?
I'm holding out for the Wilson-mixed 5.1 super-duper walletbuster special anniversary extra adjectives edition.

I realize what you're saying here, but, Chuck Berry's corpse is barely cold.

Never cared for ELO's version, I might add.

Are we sure about this? There's nothing in the schedule for the fanfare, coronation, investiture with regalia, or closing processional.

    Looks pretty suspect to me.

Jon Anderson: We'll need a table for 20.
Maitre de: But there's only 10 of you.
Jon Anderson: We're all sitting on the same side.

AFAIK, there will be no live broadcast of the entire show. Best bet is to tune into Sirius XM Friday night (see above, VOLUME channel will be live from the "Press Room"), and hope they don't just black out the whole thing once it starts at 8.

Will this be the first time a "Prog God" graces the stage at an induction ceremony? There could be a serious disturbance in the Force.

not one but 2. Both Wakeman and Anderson have received the Prog God award (Wakeman was the first recipient in fact). 2 members of Genesis (Banks and Gabriel) have also received the honor, thoughat the time Genesis was inducted, the Prog Awards didn't exist yet !

Everything I have seen lists the premier broadcast on regular HBO at 8PM on the 29th. This is also what they have typically done in the past.

Hey, yeah, AWR totally outranks Yes! Anderson and Wakeman should walk in huge strides and look down their noses.

Have the Vegas bookmakers posted on the odds of all of this ending in tears?

So who is playing bass? Not Geddy Lee and not Billy Sherwood. According to Sherwood he was asked by ARW to not participate.

Since the RRHOF has no idea who will be appearing, they're using this photo as a placeholder on the website:
