Hell, they ain't even old-timey ! - Homer Stokes
i'm very disappointed that most 'In Memoriam' lists i see on the internet and hear on radio/TV do not included Keith Emerson, Greg Lake & Paul Kantner....
our local classic rock station went out of their way memorializing George Michael & Prince but never even play their music!
Lake just died a few weeks ago and they already forgot?
I saw a list of entertainers lost in 2016 on the NY Times today and both Emerson and Lake made the cut, Kantner as well.
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
...and winding down on 2016, we lose one more: William Christopher of M*A*S*H
https://www.yahoo.com/tv/william-chr...014216456.html
But this is how we remember them all, RIP:
A Prince and a Princess, Ziggy, the Greatest, a Lucky Man and his piano player, Wake Me Up and Thicke of the Night, an American Hero the first to Orbit Earth, our favorite Mom and our favorite crazy mom, Willy Wonka, Larry Sanders, crazy Cousins, Mister Ed, the Green Hornet, Detective Harris, Napoleon Solo, the King, the king of the sitcoms, Desperado, the King of Metal, Chekov, the Fish and Fish, Gordie, Hans Gruber, Grizzly Adams, Morley, a Jefferson Airplane, the White Shadow, Schneider, Hocken, the Okie from Muskogee, a Beastie, Phife, a young Marlin, colorful jacket and Hallelujah!
Wait, Grizzly Adams died? Maybe I just forgot...
and 2016 capped all this off by killing Mariah Carey's career................
^^^^^ No loss. She's non-existent to me anyway. Her and her kind make me want to vomit and those type of music artists with their sewer sludge sounds will never invade my home or my ears.
Day dawns dark...it now numbers infinity.
Humorist Stephen Kruiser thinks that the Grim Reaper meant to take Emerson Lake & Palmer out in 2016, but got drunk and took Emerson, Lake and Arnold Palmer instead.
Many of the tribute lists leave off Dan Hicks. Just the fact that he was in the Charlatans, the first San Francisco band of the "West Coast Sound" makes him important, never mind all the stuff he did with the Hot Licks.
Lou
Looking forward to my day in court.
