Since Yes and ARW are both touring and maybe making new albums in 2017 as well as everyone being over 60, I can see that those members get in next year. Or the next year. Or 2019. Or sometime post-Singularity.

I'm not and will not be surprised if they never make it, which is equally ridiculous. I still can't believe The Stooges got in, even if it did take umpteen years.

Wow, Steppenwolf was a Big contributor to Rock and Roll during the 60's/70's Surprised they had not already been in. I dont think they are a huge band from a historical standpoint (they haven't really stood the test of time). But I compare any band to the contributions of Elvis Costello, who was let in somehow, and I say, "why not let everyone in"?

Costello has had no staying power, and he wasn't even very popular at his best.

Maybe they should have yearly list for those who should be thrown out of the RRHOF. They could fix some of their past mistakes.

Yes, however, have enjoyed unfathomable staying power and are generally perceived with inexplicable degrees of awe by every one and all.

    Good point.

Also, not many artists have had as strong a 10-year run of albums as Costello, from 1977-1986. Not sure why he dropped off so hugely after this and wandered from genre project to genre project, but that first 10 years secures him as a very important talent in any event. Really good lyricist, too.

That's questionable... but if true, they'll know that the people with the name and the record company backing are the people you need to be polite to.

The inclusion of ARW shows me a lack of animosity between the members and makes me think a re-Union of sorts is inevitable. Should the Shitall of Fame open their doors to Yes, I believe we'll see this re-Union happen sooner than later including Anderson, Rabin, Howe, Wakeman, Downes, White (defo for the Hall gig) and possibly but not probably Davison for any scale tour.
Yes do not make day-to-day decisions about what goes on the website. They probably barely make year-to-year decisions. The website content reflects what the website team decide, with guidance from the band's current management and Warner (AIUI). Yes's management, I would guess, understand that being generous in this way is better PR than publicly snubbing ARW. I don't think this in any way represents how Howe and White feel about Anderson.

    Wow, Anderson/Wakeman/Rabin/Trump/Howe/White would be awesome!

Maybe they'd do a cover of Steve Miller's "Abracadabra" ("I wanna reach out and grab ya!")

Nicely said. Yep, they let some popularity nonsense allow some people in but it is a privately owned enterprise so it's their call.
Elvis Costello. I don't care and I'll say it here - wuss rock - girly music.

I figured Steppenwolf was already in there but that shows what they know.

Bad Brains! DAMN! Those guys were nuts! They were thrown out of D.C. and told to never return. Half reggae/half metal. Great for the old mosh pit at The Bayou. Damn dem days were awesome!

^Christ. Presumably somebody got paid for that article!

The article did have a few good points but that's because I hate Journey. Not one good song, not one.

what really would be funny is if YES gets inducted and only the original line up are invited.
and Alan White & Steve Howe; the only members left... can't go! LOL
but Rick wouldn't either and that wouldn't be funny.

by the way go ELO- if anyone deserves it they do.

    Here's my vote:
    Yes
    Journey
    Pearl Jam (shoo-in)
Tupac (with NWA making it last year, he probably will this year)
    Joan Baez
"It's such a fine line between stupid and... clever" -- David St. Hubbins & Derek Smalls, Spinal Tap
