    Just think, you'd also get:

    ELP
    Foreigner (blech)
    Solo Belew
    California Guitar Trio
    Stick Men
    All Bruford's solo work
    Asia (a Wetton side project!)
Yes (a Bruford side project, even though it preceded his time with KC)

Hey act, tell me if any of the above violates the rules - I actually want to know.

I do have to say, that after thinking about this a bit, almost any choice would eventually lead me to madness. I think you have a come up with a great definition of hell.

Apparently there's a Finnish electronic duo called Adam & Eve. I'll pick them if I can claim all other bands as off-shoots.

Ha-ha! Maybe I'll say Thomas Edison's first wax cylinder recording, and count all other commercial recordings ever as offshoots.

Yeah, but there's way too much Celine Dion, Barry Manilow & Kenny G on his list of credits, I think you'd find be hanging from a lamp post within a month.

If you chose Camel you'd get Eno and his "side projects," Happy the Man, Kayak, solo Bardens, Van Morrison, Marillion (from Andy Ward), Alan Parsons Project, and all Simon Phillips' side project's.

A winner here indeed, but picking just that for the rest of my life sure it wouldn't be enough. So, I'd rather go some decades further and pick Wilhelm Furtwängler and every piece he conducted during his lifetime .

    Not surprising at all, though...
