    Songs that end abruptly

Most songs don't end abruptly so that makes it even more interesting(and to some frustrating)when one does. I can think of three songs off the top of my head that sound as if the tape was cut before the song ends(you can't get much more abrupt than that). Those songs are:

The Beatles- I want you/she's so heavy
    Dream Theater- Pull me Under
    Deep Purple- Chasing Shadows

However, a song does have to end like that to qualify for this thread. It just has to have an unconventional ending in which it just stops without much warning. Songs with a fake ending could be another thread(I might start that at a later time or someone else can. I can only think of one song that has this kind of an abrupt ending(even though it comes back later). That song is:

    Yes- Heart of the Sunrise

What songs am I missing(or possibly unaware of?).

The story goes that this song didn't end properly because the tape on which it was recorded ran out and you can hear it sound like it got jammed or crumpled toward the end of the song. From what I understand it was fixed in later remastered versions but I haven't heard it in a while so I can't say for sure. Guitar Geek might have something more to add to this or confirm this story.

In the Collectors Club release of Zurich 11/15/73 they used an audience recording to fill in the music that was lost when the reel ran out. That may have been added to a recent SABB rerelease too.

The Great Deciever include The Law of Maximum Distress Part 1 and Part 2 featuring the improv from before and after the tape reel changes. The Mincer had overdubs added in the studio.

    Starless box:
    Disc 4 - Volkshaus, Zurich, Switzerland, November 15, 1973:

1 The Law Of Maximum Distress: Part I
    2 Improv: The Mincer *
3 The Law Of Maximum Distress: Part II
    4 Easy Money
    5 Exiles
    6 Improv: Some More Pussyfooting
    7 The Talking Drum
8 Larks’ Tongues In Aspic (Part II)
    9 21st Century Schizoid Man

Mixed by Robert Fripp, Tony Arnold and David Singleton at the Courthouse, Cranborne, Dorset, except * ‘The Mincer’ taken from the original "Starless & Bible Black" album mix with added ambience from an audience bootleg as the original multitrack tape is missing. Previously released in part on "The Great Deceiver" (1992) & via mail order as part of The King Crimson Collectors' Club Vol. 41(2009). Assembled & remastered from the original "Great Deceiver" mixes by David Singleton at DGM SoundWorld (2014).

Haven't heard the album for awhile, but I think "The Great Deceiver" gets cut off and "Lament" just starts.

Zappa's Shut Up and Play Your Guitar - I think all three versions just cut abruptly to the next track. Maybe other tracks on those albums as well?

Almost every song on the album slams into the dialogue interludes (edited where a composed part or vocals came in). It was jarring for a while before I got familiar enough with the album to know when these endings were coming.

Yep, that one certainly qualifies in the same way "Heart of the Sunrise" does.

Given the amount of drugs in the room, perhaps Arthur Lee simply walked out of the studio looking for some potato chips. Or cake. Maybe...ummm...some Chinese food. I love Chinese food. Hey, what am I doing out in the street?

    Flash: “There No More”
    Heldon: “Perspective IV”
    Sandrose: “Underground Session (Chorea)”

I’m guessing in all cases, the tape ran out.
