Mike Portnoy - ever the master of understatement.

I know there are a lot of Neal Morse haters out there but I, for one, am completely psyched about this!!! There is a special magic, a truly special chemistry between Neal and Mike Portnoy that is so rare.

Cannot wait. And they had better tour North America in support of this!!!

Not a big fan of The Wall. I liked when Portnoy said that SNOW was "Tommy Meets The Lamb" much better.

OK then, I need to hear it. I take it, it will be a twofer? I like the Neil Morse I've heard so far.

Well that first run of 4 albums is going to be hard to top (Testimony, One, ?, Sola) but I'm in to find out!

BTW how is that new track "Falling for Forever" on the Spock's compilation? Neal wrote it and features all band members right?

It's cookie cutter Neal Morse (Is it TA? Is it SB? Is it the NMB?), not that there's anything wrong with that.

Cookie cutter Neal Morse is a cut above most music.

I hope it's a concept album about how music saves the world.

It's an original story, about a guy who sings and plays music but loses his way, turns to drugs and drinking, then finds despair and loneliness, and lastly judgment. Upon which he begins to question his purpose in life, and through the grace of a character we'll call "The One", he is redeemed.

The twist is the drummer has a blue beard and is Jewish.

I'm really looking forward to this - I thought that the last NM Band release was excellent.
If the new 2CD concept album (must be 100mins plus and anything up to 160mins!) is as good as MP claims then they're going to have to play it live...and in full (obviously) - and that probably isn't on the cards for festival appearances (I'll be on CTTE17).
We need to see more tour dates including a few UK shows please.

NMB is headlining at ROSfest 2017 - not unlikely we'll hear the entire album then.

It will be Tommy meets The Wall. Here's the leaked album cover:

"Corn Flakes pissed in. You ranted. Mission accomplished. Thread closed."

I thought that album cover would feature a close up of Roger Daltrey from the Who's Next cover- or possibly just the stain on the Wall itself!

It'll be a dude with a blue beard, standing and pissing on a copy of A Dramatic Turn of Events.
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

    Here's your concept:

It's the Second Coming of the Christ to a great deal of fanfare. Everyone thinks he'll be their own idea of what Jesus should be except that JC has different ideas. He becomes the host of a late night talkshow, hobnobs with celebrities, raises the Beatles from the dead and is a huge smash hit. Unfortunately, the insulated life of a superstar ruins his personal life. All he wants is to settle down with the girl next door and raise a family. He becomes disillusioned (the end of Disc One song, "Fuck You, I'm Outta Here") and decides to chuck it all and become a hobo.

    Disc two is even better.
