^^^^ Just wanted to say thumbs-up for the Cascadia flag!
Yeah!!! I wish more people could get into it. Not PC enough for many.

The movement never really caught on but it is a beautiful flag, isnt it?

I love it! And I fly it often outside our house. The designer of the flag is a Facebook friend of mine.
I got involved with the movement for a short while, but the whole thing seemed doomed to in-fighting. Too many people with too many visions for what they wanted the whole thing to stand for.
Seriously. When I first started thinking about this a few Beatles songs came to mind, Cry for No One, Rain, Paperback Writer, She Said She Said. The I started thinking that most of the Beatles catalog would really fit as "perfect songs" for me. Sure, some exceptions, but generally perfection for me.
For me, there are tons of others in rock and Prog. Here are some off the top of my head:
Motorhead - One Track Mind
Pretenders - Middle of the Road
Bowie - Jean Genie (I wouldn't even change the not that sounds like a mistake to me )
Rush - Red Barchetta, The Trees, Free Will
Yes - Silent Wings of Freedom (I'm probably alone in this, c'est la vie), Turn of the Century
Allman Brothers - Whipping Post
Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion
The Firm - Fortune Hunter
Stone temple Pilots - Vasoline, Plush, Interstate Love Song
Too many more to list. I couldn't possibly narrow it to one song.
Bill
John Abercrombie and Jan Hammer, from Abercrombie's album,Timeless.Pure beauty.
"please do not understand me too quickly"-andre gide
There are many I could list, but one I always come back to for it's haunting beauty is...
"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it."
-- Aristotle
Nostalgia, you know, ain't what it used to be. Furthermore, they tells me, it never was.
“A Man Who Does Not Read Has No Appreciable Advantage Over the Man Who Cannot Read” - Mark Twain
"The White Zone is for loading and unloading only. If you got to load or unload go to the White Zone!"
Two pieces of perfection from The Kinks
Speaking of Gordon Lightfoot
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
Two from the Stones
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
I'll toss in this as my number 2: Since I've Been Loving You - LZ
Captures the essence of: the Pain of relationships expressed in the Blues format but with haunting beauty and a fairly complex chord structure.....and a solo to die for.
Fleetwood Mac - "Albatross"
Hell, they ain't even old-timey ! - Homer Stokes
Do not suffer through the game of chance that plays....always doors to lock away your dreams (To Be Over)
Today's Perfect Song:
The Hugh Hopper song sung by a pre-fame Whitney Houston.
The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off
Does it matter that this waste of time is what makes a life for you?
Here's a great song to listen to on the way to work. Yeah, I know it's outdated (Century 20 A.D.), but it still applies. Great guitar from Buck Dharma on this.
The most perfect, beautiful song ever.
