Secret Chiefs 3 - First Grand Constitution and Bylaws

Trey Spruance was busy in the mid-90s recording with Mr. Bungle, Faith No More and the first SC3 album. How do you think this one has held up over the years?

Interested to hear responses, this is one of the few of theirs I don't own.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

Haven't owned it or heard it for a few years, but thought it was their weakest back when I had it and hence my decision to part with it.

    Huge SC3 fan here
To be honest I bought this back in 98 along with Second Grand Constitution and Bylaws
I loved the later one so much but the debut got very few listening
I recently revisited this and it felt much more interesting and rewarding

A pretty darn good album that is a bit more noisy/jagged/scatterbrained/disjointed (in a good way) than the rest of their stuff. Definitely reminds me the most of Mr. Bungle of the SC3 discog. Prior to the release of Book Of Souls: A, I would say this is their weakest release, but it's by no means a weak release. A worthy addition for fans, but newbies should start elsewhere.

So what would be a good place to start?

Yeah, Book Of Horizons would be my suggestion (it is their best) but Book M is not a wrong answer either.
