Yeah, one of the best Bob Dylan prog covers ever.

    1-Nightingales and Bombers
    2-Good Earth
    3-The Roaring Silence
    4-Solar Fire
    5-Messin'

I'm a HUGE fan of Nightingales. Just a superb example of 70's Moog heavy Prog Rock. I love The Good Earth & Roaring as well. Then it gets a bit sketchy for me, but Solar Fire is very cool too.

Angel Station is already quite a change from the previous string of albums it's got a new wave thing to it), but Chance is really not the same band anymore as it's so different - though I think Somewhere in Afrika has got something Chance hasn't.

Never convinced by Good Earth, though.

In the early days they used to play live the Chapter 3 song "One Way Glass", I even used to have recording on cassette (long lost) of a John Peel session from 1971 with it on. I'd love to hear this version again and even though many archival live recordings being released, this has never surfaced.

Chance, Somewhere in Afrika and Criminal Tango all have that particular dense, chunky and thick sound to them. My first thought would be to call them "something of their time" but I'm not even sure what that means anymore.

Anyway, all three have some really excellent songs and some really dodgy stuff too imo. I thought SiA was the most consistent in songs that spoke to me for one reason or another, that's why I included it in the list... but all three are worth a listen, especially since everything after CT was... not of my liking.

I absolutely love Chance. Definitely learning more towards an amalgam of pop and prog rock, but thoroughly enjoyable and very creative stuff.

I remember getting the rights to a square foot of land in Wales, with the Good Earth album. I think I’ve lost the paperwork though!

Was that really a legal/legit thing?
    even for foreigners?
Are you technically still the owner some 50 years down the line??
    Any taxes to be paid?

I was tempted to do it & respond but you had to cut out a corner of the sleeve, so I decided to pass up on it.

How have I missed subbing to this thread?!?

Here's a top five albums...but not in any particular order.

    Somewhere in Afrika
    Chance
    Angel Station
    The Roaring Silence
    Nightingales and Bombers

    Bonus: Budapest Live
Cobra handling and cocaine use are a bad mix.
