Anderson Ponty Band Warning from Jamie Glaser!

    15 hrs · Edited
    Hey all
I just talked to management and I was told that the CD's available for pre order on Amazon that some have already purchased are unauthorized.
I was asked to get on social media and ask you to get a refund ASAP.
This is the exact message I got in an email.............

Please send a message that Frontier does not have the right to sell our album and Amazon has a greed to pull it down. We will be soon completing a deal and will notify you. Please cancel your orders so there is no confusion. Sorry for the inconvenience…and the package will be less expensive! Thanks!

Not that I'm doubting you, but there is nothing on Jamie Glaser's Facebook page, and he is very active on FB, posting updates with regularity, musical and otherwise.

Jamie posted that message in the "Anderson Ponty Band Fans" Facebook group. I just checked and it is still there. He went on to post this in the same thread, after some negative comments about the Kickstarter campaign:

friends. I came here to protect you cause I get a lot of personal messages. So many came saying they purchased the record.
I immediately called Management ... I care about YOU all
and even though we have some kickstarter whining here still
THEY care greatly about you , your support and your patience.
I have been a musician on albums that took 5 years to finish
Its not a science. Its unfortunate they made promises that life made
impossible to fulfill but from me to you , as a musician in the band
I can tell you that management gives Kickstarter and fans priority
    Its NOT a snafu..
Its someone doing something illegal. The people who posted our CD for sale , are not from our team, they are not legally allowed to sell our music. I dont want anyone ripped off here.
Many of you know I have a book out called Hear The Silence
someone on amazon sells the book for $999 dollars
and they have sold 2 of them that I know of
I dont know them, the money is not to me, they just do it for personal gain, and the people who posted on AMAZON had no right to sell our stuff.

I worked 115 hours on this project. Folks who wanna complain , stand behind me and the other 20 people who have worked their asses off . This isn't some project that is done by amateurs that want a few shares on social media. This is the big time. Before the BS of crowdfunding no one knew anything or got anything, or heard anything till a DJ on the radio told you that it was the greatest thing he/ she had heard.
You don't have patience to wait , thats ok , thats your business.
We are not gonna go out without a proper deal, a worldwide deal, a master that is top notch, without a team, attorneys, management, band, art work, DVD authoring, editing all pro.....super pro
While its become the norm to set up a computer in your house and release a record and beg your friends to share the thing
Jon anderson, Jean Luc Ponty and may I be so humble to say me and my bandmates, dont work like newbies happy to get their music on internet radio. And that my friend is the way it is...
as they say , as you said "you dont like it;... tough.
    "

^It's a bit much to talk about the 'BS of crowdfunding' considering it was that (thankfully not including me) which paid for this to happen in the first place IMHO. Is it unreasonable for the fans to want some product?

    Thanks for the update, Dan.

This may sound like an understatement, but there's something oddly strident about the tone of the message on the FB page. It reads like the phone call someone in a movie gets in the middle of the night warning them about some nefarious plot and usually ends with, "Wait, someone's coming...[click]"

I have a feeling we're only seeing the tip of the drama iceberg here.

I just wanted to share this with those of you who already purchased it from Amazon. Myself,I have not sent a dime yet. Waiting on the reviews before taking this plunge. If I prevented one person from buying an illegal cd it was worth it.

This band has the only founder member of Yes alive, so it has more rights to call themselves Yes than the other group.

If you guys are no longer interested in Yes, aren't there like 300 other threads on PE that you could contribute to rather than the Yes related ones? Your opinion of the current situation is pretty clear so to keep reiterating seems a bit redundant. Just sayin.

As per that Amazon site, the album is named, "Better Late Than Never". Are you effing kidding me? That can't be right. Ironic title of course if true but, that can't be right.

We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock.

Then I'm sure he will go out there and call whatever he's doing Yes. Or is that not how real life works?

Especially so, given that Frontiers is a legitimate record label. I doubt they would have attempted to release this album without some involvement by the band and its management.

My guess is that there was a deal and then there wasn't a deal, for whatever reason.

I have to say, the APB has provided quite a lot of entertainment value even without releasing a single note of music. It's just one car crash after another.

They should have called it "Better One CD Than None."

Two alternate titles for this release.

I'm loving the disaster this has become. Just when you think it's safe to go back into the water, we get this chum.
