Ralf should just toss 'em to Esoteric and let them knock 'em out on their behalf (spoken as someone with literally ZERO knowledge of what would be involved in making that a reality).
They / he are obviously working hard against them being reissued. They don't need esoteric to make it happen;if they wanted them to happen, Universal who own it (or did own it) would be happy to do it, as would anyone else.

Shame. I own all these early albums, but still a shame.

Any time any one speaks to me about any musical project, the one absolute given is "it will not make big money". [tip of the hat to HK]

"Death to false 'support the scene' prog!"

please add 'imo' wherever you like, to avoid offending those easily offended.

That...also rather makes sense. Ah well, it's their party. It'd be nice to see official (re)releases on these at some point.

Thanks for the clarification as always, sir
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

    IMO

Organization is interesting and certainly more than ok, but not a classic.

The 1st two Kraftwerks (and Ralf & Florian) are great krautrock classics.

I can play them for you sometime if you want to hear them (I assume they are on YouTube, etc)....

A quick YT search turned up the 1st one...I'm sure with a small bit of hunting I could find the second.

That said...I'm old school and YT just doesn't engage me the same way a record or even CD can. So one of these days I just might take you up on that offer

    Thanks!

The Austin show sold out in just under an hour, so Kraftwerk has added a SECOND SHOW that same night. Presale begins tomorrow.

    Not true at all!

    from
    http://www.billboard.com/articles/ne...album-for-2010

" Five of the titles, meanwhile -- "Autobahn," "Radio-Activity," "Trans Europe Express," "The Man Machine" and "Tour De France Soundtracks" -- have just been released as individual CDs. The other three albums are not currently licensed for separate release in the U.S.

"It's a piece of work that just had to be done," Hutter says of the catalog overhaul. "The quality (of previous CDs) wasn't always as it should have been...especially the artwork was just cut down from the LP format or scanned down, especially in America. Now we found the time to finish it, and we're very happy. You have everything from Kraftwerk in high (quality) formats."

Hutter says he also plans to upgrade the three Kraftwerk albums that preceded "Autobahn," though he won't predict a timetable for those. "When I find the time and go through the archives again, we'll do those also in a new format," he promises. "But my perspective now is forward for the next album."

It is worth nothing that the Billboard article is from 2009. I know they tour often and must be burning the midnight motor oil on Album #9...but still. Not exactly cause to start saving up money for preorders.

"When people stop asking me about them, I will be able to stop lying about the fact that while I have been promising their release for at least a decade, that I am the sole reason they have never been digitally issued in any legal form."
    Fixed it for you!

I was just trying to make clear that they don't work against a release.
As always, they work within their own timetable :-)
