    "Spectral Mornings 2015" E.P. - Hackett/Beggs/Reed/Booth/D'Virgilio

A new version of Steve Hackett's classic track Spectral Mornings has been recorded and will be released as an EP on download and CD on April 27th. The release is the brainchild of Rob Reed who wanted to re-imagine the instrumental track, with its beautiful melody, as a song. Rob asked Big Big Train's David Longdon to write the words for the new version.

Spectral Mornings 2015 features guitars by Steve Hackett, vocals by David and Christina Booth, drums by BBT's Nick D'Virgilio, keyboards by Rob Reed and Nick Beggs on bass.

All profits from Spectral Mornings will go to the Parkinson's Society UK.

The EP includes four different versions of Spectral Mornings and audio previews can be heard at iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/…/spectral-...0…/id979378606

The CD version can be purchased at Cherry Red http://www.cherryred.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=5026, Burning Shed: https://www.burningshed.com/sto…/pro...roduct/…/6524/ or Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spectral-Mor.../…/ref=sr_1_1…

The download version can be purchased at iTunes or Amazon.

The clips sound good, and the instrumental version sounds awesome. It is a great, inspiring piece of music.

Ugh, what a horrible idea. I bet they'll ruin it.

The CherryRed server seems to be barfing up bad HTML. (Not just this link, pretty much everything Google returns)

Agreed -- nice job all around. Considering the charity this is aimed at I think the new lyrics and vocal arrangement are fantastic.

Very nice. Could have been a fine Genesis song. It is a fine Hackett/Beggs/Reed/Booth/D'Virgillo song.

That was the plan, wasn't it? I thought he had offered it to the band but they declined.

Pretty sure he wrote this one after he left Genesis. I know they declined on 'Please Don't Touch' in its infant stage, which they felt was much better once hearing the final version.

And Hackett didn't have to sully himself by being in the same room with them.

Just kidding, that was good - I like the last few notes of Hackett's solo.

Almost sure this wasn't offered to Genesis---was written after he left. Think things from his first two solo albums were offered---like Please Don't touch and I think Shadow of the H.

Does the charity still get a boost if I order from Amazon?

Watched the video last night and my wife immediately instructed me to order the EP, which I just did from Burning Shed. I'm so obedient. Great job to all involved!
