I picked up a Japanese copy of Nipponjin by Far East Family Band. The liner notes are in pretty ropey English, but you'd think they'd at least get band names right. However...
"The popularity of progressive rock in Japan is rather high. Not only Pink Floyd, Yes, and king Crimson (sic) which are in the decisive positions in all foreign countries, the artists who are not much to the point of real fame - such as Tangerine Dream, Mike Oldfield, Clme, Trianvilande, and Craftwork (sic) - has gotten quite popular here."
So, any thoughts on Clme and Trianvilande? I thought that maybe they got l and r mixed up, so Clme -> Crme -> Cream? But Trianvilande has got me completely stumped.
