    Rest In Peace Daevid Allen

Just because we knew this was inevitable doesn't make it hurt any less.

Daevid and Planet Gong have been a huge influence on me since I was a teenager. It is very hard for me to swallow this as I feel as though I have lost a very close and dear friend. I have nothing but love in my heart for this man who came to this planet to spread the seeds of life, love and happiness to all who are fortunate enough to receive it. His Flying Teapot has arrived and will circle this earth spreading love, hope and happiness, Hope For Happiness until this old and tired planet calls it quits as well. He is a rare gem that is to be cherished and adorned. I am happy that he is at peace, I hope we can appreciate our own lives and "Never give a day away", take nothing for granted and take time to digest this gradually. "Shine On, Shine On Love, Shine On".......

The other thread was not an "RIP" thread per se, though I've been reading every new post, hoping it would not end with this news. I will be listening to a lot of D. A. music and Gong music.

Ach... he left his mark, but it still hurts. At least his suffering has ended.

    RIP Daevid.

Sounds like it would be a relief to him after following the other thread for a while.

Very much a singular body of work which will only grow in mystique. RIP.

I'm glad he's free from pain now.

But this is my biggest "rock loss" in a long, long while. You just can't replace someone like this, and you're not supposed to have to. One of a kind.
